Why Are We Doing This to Ourselves Again?

Do you even fan bro?

*I*...am doing nothing to myself! (@shabazz you HUSH your mouth!)

Gonna let things play out and cheer them on. The team has to prove things to themselves FIRST. Everything else will fall in life if so.

If not...same ol same ol!

Idc you can live in fear if you like. Every years is ours until it isn't, for me. Team is gonna be really good, they're gonna get into the dance and we see where the chips fall after that.

As exciting as it is to watch Christian Parker waltz in and try to duct-tape together a defense, we are still staring at potential black holes at inside linebacker and cornerback depth. We need one big fast injury-free guy who can actually stop the run instead of parting the Red Sea every time a halfback touches the ball, and another who can keep up with a receiver running a deep route without appearing on ESPN highlight videos.

Pittsburgh fans look at Broderick Jones and laugh, because he's essentially our version of Terence Steele and Tyler Guyton on their absolute worst Sundays. And let's be honest with ourselves: we have zero actual proof that either Steele or Guyton figured out how to block a stationary traffic cone over the offseason. Right now, our depth at swing tackle is so terrifyingly thin, Dak should sign a waiver to play.

Milton was never the answer, and Howell sure as hell isn't either. If you want a franchise quarterback, go draft one in the first round like a normal organization, because Jerry has proven time and time again he couldn't find a project quarterback if one bit him on the ***. Romo only survived because Quincy Carter was too busy hot-boxing cars, and Dak—while drafted to eventually sit behind Romo—caught lightning in a bottle so fast nobody saw it coming, least of all the front office.

The Cowboys are so thoroughly lost at building a defense that every single time a new Coach like Bill Parcells, Dan Quinn, or now Christian Parker comes to town with a grocery list, the fan base loses its collective mind. We act like we're building a dynasty when we're really just bailing water out of a sinking ship built by Jerry, a man who still somehow hasn't figured out how to field an offense and a defense at the exact same time in the salary cap era.

Here’s what I actually know:
  • We actually have a pretty damn good defensive line for a 3-4.
  • We have more depth at safety than we've had in years.
  • We have two of the best damn receivers in the entire league.
  • We have a dominant interior offensive line.
  • We have young coaches who will put in the hundred-hour weeks and actually know how to talk to players without sounding like their accountants.
So like all of you masochists, I hope this organization somehow stumbles backward into competence this year. I'm trying not to drink the Kool-Aid, but it's pretty tough not to get a little sucked in when the whole operation feels slightly different. Maybe it's just my brain desperately trying to trick me into hope again, or maybe there's actually some substance to it—either way, I'll be parked on the couch with a beer ready to find out.
Actually this is as good a roster Dallas has had in its nearly 30 years of nothing. At this point you are asking for either too much or perfection.

You should Actually sit back and realize what you have in front of you instead of looking for a small problem that was never this small before.

We stay away from major injuries I have hope, which I have not been able to say for a long while, they have done things differently this year we will see if it translates. But it is nice to at least to feel some form of hope again.

I'm nit doing anything to myself. I still have no hope for this team.
Me neither, I quit falling for the Dallas hype when I turned 35, I am 55 now and made the right choice all those years ago. This team isn't about winning super bowls, it's a TV show.

This tv show will have more episodes than any previous season in team history

Our defense can only be better this season and it will be. Can't see why it wouldn't be a top 15-10 defense unless our corners are outright terrible, which I think the top 3 are very solid, just not outstanding. IF, big IF, agent 0 can stay healthy and Barham keeps improving the way he is then we'll be closer to 10 than 15. Our D-line is the defenses strength.

Downs going to play NCB which helps both the secondary and LB's. Winters is serviceable and the safety room should be our best in almost a decade.

Our DC's specialty is secondary so that should improve back there overall beyond talent.

I think we make the playoffs in a grind and greatly improve overall as a team. A team with a good mix of vets and young players that play with maturity.

Seahawks are still the champs and the Rams are all in this season where they host the Superbowl in their stadium. Injuries aside, they're loaded everywhere. Coaching staff is experienced and outstanding. They could have won it last year. They're even better this year.

But I'll enjoy our journey this season, anything can happen. We are not without talent. I like how our coaching staff is young and growing together. We'll see right away in week 1 if this coaching staff is on their.game.

I do think we need more LBers, but we're already better than last season

In other words, 'find another team'.

Such a unique response that none of us has ever heard.
No you tried to play the “we” card like
You don’t support this team and Jerry
And you do. You’re no better. You love this madness.

I have concerns as well, but inside LB is not at the top of my list. I worry about the CBs. I assume Bland and Revel will be the starters? Cobie Durant? I see lots of completions against this defense because my second concern is pass rush. Von Miller was born before the war - the Civil war. Ok slight exaggeration but he is old and he is not going to play many downs, and he is not the Von Miller of old. If he give them 5 good plays a game they should be happy. I like Rashan Gary as a player. And playing next to Williams he will get a lot of single teams. But I have to see consistent pressure from this group or I think the CBs are going to be exposed.

As for the new OT, Jones, I agree. He's probably not any better than Guyton or Steele. And coming off a neck injury I have concerns about his longevity. Remember LVE? I think they overpaid for him but I give them credit for at least trying to solve the problem. Could you imagine getting a 3rd and 6th for Steele and a 4th?

That is a ginormous distortion of the truth.
Agree 100%. That was my thought. Duct tape.wow.
Im pretty disappointed in you both.

If I was to be left in the middle of Siberia, duct tape would be in my top 5 requests.

From car bumpers being held on to securing leading edges of aircraft spoilers it the accessory of our generation
