I think the Cowboys will be a significantly better team than the last two seasons in a row. I do genuinely think we should be one of the top 3-4 teams in the conference. The way I see the season, it'll be crucial that we get the division round at home. Let me break down my analysis below for why.

I think the Rams are probably going to win the SB if they stay healthy. Unfortunately, I see them going 15-2 at worst with how good their defence should be. So, I have them easily as the 1 seed. So, assuming the 1 seed is out of the question for us.

I think the NFC South will be useless as usual this season, so I think the winner gets the 4 seed.

So, the final question is, what about the rest of the way? I think we should win the division. I think, if the Cowboys stay healthy, we should win this division going away. The big question will be the NFC North and the WCs. I think the Bears will likely win the NFC North. So, the first question will be, who finishes in the 2 seed? Us or Chicago? Then the question is, who do we play at home in the WC round. I think the teams that I'd be concerned about facing in the WC round would be Green Bay and Seattle. I think we can handle Green Bay, but weird stuff always seems to happen when we play them. Seattle is the reigning champs, and I could see them being tough. I think the good news for us, I see Seattle likely getting the 5 seed, so they become the NFC South's and Rams problem (and might be helpful for us here). Hopefully, we get maybe a division opponent in the WC round? We usually win if it's that.

So, assuming we win the WC round, this is where the pressure comes in. I think, if we are the 3 seed and going against Chicago in Chicago, I think we're in trouble with the climate there. If we catch them in Dallas, I think we win that game. I think that's where the most crucial part of the season will be for us. I think that's what this season comes down to. Imo, we MUST get the 2 seed or have Chicago lose in the WC round (if they get the 2 seed) if we get the 3 seed. I think that makes the difference whether we go to the NFCCG or not.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m expecting the eagles to wet the bed this season. Hurts is limited and that team is ripe for an implosion.

Barkley isn’t dynamic anymore. Neither is Hurts. Lemon is an unknown. I could see that offense REALLY being challenged to put points in the board. I could EASILY see PHILLY turning into a stinking dumpster fire.

That would be great but they have the Oline and defense. Bigsby looks good and Hurts is just Hurts.

Again, we didn't have much at defence last year. Now we should. Plus, I think we lost Lamb during that game. Also, even with how bad our defence was, most of our wins came at home. I think our offense will be fine against them this year, if we should play them in Dallas (as long as the defence can play well). I think the key thing is, there should be less pressure on the offense because the defence should at least be average. If anything, I expect that to allow the offense to open up even more.

And, like I said to someone else in this thread, if not? If all things are how they should be, and we still can't get through? Dak's contract expires after the 2028 season, but his cap hit after next season drops to only $55 mil. So, if the offense is still top 5 and the defence is at least average, and we can't beat them at home? I don't think Jerry (or Stephen) will want a round 3 with Dak without some kind of leverage. I can see them drafting a QB in round one next year to sit a year behind Dak as a leverage play. I think we have the team to where, if we're at home, we should beat Chicago. If it's away, then we're probably screwed. Either way, that likely wouldn't be until the division round.
