In contrast, what has Caelen Carson shown?

Interesting that he cleared waivers. Young, physically talented, and didn’t play bad during preseason. There are far worse QBs on a roster.

Maybe the league was surprised he was cut and people were cautious in claiming him too quickly until they knew why. He certainly looked better to me in the pre-season snaps I saw. Of course we don't know the whole story.

He needs a redshirt year in the NFL - at a minimum. Let him have it on the practice squad, not the 53-man roster.

Howie Roseman knows that QB is by far the most important position on your team. You do not cut QBs that show improvement and have a superior arm talent.

I'd like to see him on the practice squad. Anyone saying they didn't see substantial improvement from last year is lying. Doesn't mean he'll be a starting QB but clearly he put in some work. Lets see what another year in the system does for him. Worth the flyer with his physical skills IMO

For me, appreciating Milton doesn’t mean I have to dislike Howell.

I really had no plan to jump into this conversation, but this is a truly the most idiotic take to compare a QB to Milton to prove someone else sucks more than him.

One player had 4.6k yards, 30 TDs, 10 Ints, 7.6 yds/att, 67% completion on 600 atts, and a 99.5 passer rating and 70.2 QBR vs another player that had 183 yds on 24 atts, 1 TD, 2 INT and a 65 passer rating and 52 QBR.

How do you think this proves any type of point you are trying to make. The only point it makes is how much you dislike one player.

I know...i KNOW! Not a great example (pitiful sample size, huh) . But there's very little else to go on, don't you think. I'm taking the ONE opportunity to compare their performances. You might not like it...but it is STILL very much the facts.

No...I do not dislike Dak. What I do dislike is people absolutley trashing a young player that was on our team...and could still possibly return. If someone doesn't like him fine....but declaring the end of him is hardly good sportsmanship...or even good humanity. "best wishes and goodluck"?

An adept scout can factor that in.

The story is not done yet. If he does come back to the Star...try your best to cheer him on if you dare.

None in my opinion, but I'm not him. In Dallas he doesn't have to move and he keeps his coaches and teammates. He wouldn't have to start over with a new system with new coaches and teammates. That makes Dallas the favorite.

The Cowboys are likely the only team that ever outright cut him in his entire life. There’s at least a chance he’s not comfortable with that. A fresh start elsewhere may be appealing as opposed to a team he made an effort for and they considered him unnecessary.

If the Cowboys were ran correctly, they would not have traded a draft pick for Milton and wasted 2 years. Cooper Rush is a likely starter in Atlanta. What did the Cowboys get for Cooper Rush? What did the Cowboys get for Joe Milton? Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.

No one picked him off waivers. He obviously didn’t do well at most other aspects besides PS games. Not one team picked him up and he was dirt cheap, doesn’t that tell you anything?

He wanted to be there as the 2nd qb. His agent is making him wait a little while. That's all it is. He might have an offer or 2 and the agent wants him to listen to everybody.

If another team wanted him bad enough, the world have claimed him off waivers, especially is they want him in the 53. His contract was as cheap as it could be, so it’s not a money issue.

If a team claimed him off waivers he would have to immediately go to the new teams 53. They would then have to cut someone. High price to pay for a 3rd QB on your team who hopefully would never play.
