All it tells me is what we've been saying for a long time: when your defense gives up 20-plus points, it's difficult for any quarterback to succeed, even if the offense is solid. In big games and the playoffs, a lack of a running game, an offensive line committing multiple penalties, and receivers struggling to get separation all compound the problem. There’s a lot that goes into it beyond just the quarterback’s performance.
that's why we usually just say it's a team effort. It always comes down to being the best team on the field. You don't need to have all the superstars; having solid depth can make a team just as competitive. ITS A TEAM GAME!!
That's what I noticed last year in the playoffs, especially in the Super Bowl, two teams built for depth with strong overall rosters but without many superstars. They could lose a few players, yet the next ones stepped in at nearly the same level.
Looking at that chart, every team has a losing record if their defense allows more than 21 points. That's why having a strong defense is crucial.
As I mentioned earlier in the week, keeping opponents under 20 points gives you a much better chance to win. Teams like Ravens a few times or even the Bears in past years, didn't rely on a great offense, they just needed to score enough and let the defense handle the rest, without putting all the pressure on the quarterback.
