When the owners do something stupid, or push for an idea that fans don’t like but it’s adopted nonetheless, Goodell is rewarded handsomely to take the blame and get the boos from the fans.

He’s paid big money to receive the ire that should be directed towards the owners. Remember that.

A commissioner now is completely different than 50 years ago.

The owners have taken complete control of the league by changing the commissioner from being a neutral overseer of the league to being the owners’ errand boy. Pete Rozell was probably the last neutral commissioner of the NFL.

Goodell is a good ol boy for the owners.
