I think the league should switch back to the H-shaped goalposts like you see in this image. They got rid of these in favor of the tuning-fork style that is now used because it offered just one post in the ground, which meant there was only one post that a player might run into. However, that reason became obsolete in 1974 when the league moved the goalpost to the back of the endzone.
The H-shaped goalpost offers greater stability. Two supports work better than one. The league had to outlaw dunking the ball over the goalpost because of the lack of stability. I'm therefore in favor of bringing back the H-shaped one and letting players dunk the ball after scoring.
