Aikman was known for standing strong in the pocket and taking the hit as he threw the ball. He got smacked around good, as did all QBs back then.

I agree. I’m just saying Aikmans concussions didn’t stem from bad line play. He had some
Great lines. If a qb gets rocked after trying to wait for a play develop after about 4 or 5 seconds that’s not bad line play.

I never watched him and only caught the very end of Roger's career. I grew up with Danny White and Tony D. From everything I've seen of him though he was a phenomenal qb. From what I know of him he played very similarly to Romo. Improvising, buying time with his legs, gunslinger mentality..

Missed a playoff game, 93 one I think, w/ a concussion. Doesn't remember the champ game vs SF. When asked where the super bowl was being played, he responded "Henryetta Oklahoma. Also didn't know the name of the previous year's super bowl MVP. Kosar had to come in and finish the game.

Dandy joined a terrible team. For his first 6 six seasons he was pounded mercilessly. He would indeed be a HOFer if he hadn't started on such a terrible team.

I'm cutting Dak and Tony and signing this kid that just got out of the Navy. He's about 27, kind of old, but he had a six-year commitment to the Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy where he won the Heisman Trophy.

I got a good feeling about this guy.......

Now this will be unpopular but I'm going to say it any way! Keep in mind I am 59 years old so unlike many here I saw Troy in his prime. The only thing that gives me pause is when Emmitt was out Troy would come up short just like Romo and Dak and that was with everyone else intact. He would have some of his worse games until 22 was back out there setting the tempo. Then Troy would go down and people like Garrett and Kosar would step in and win games not like Troy but still a win with the back up was huge. SO i said all that to say i would need to see Romo and Dak with the coaching and Teamates Troy had to make a fair assesment.

It’s crazy because I think some of the most gruesome injuries I’ve seen have probably been in the last 10 years. Dak holding his foot as it dangled still is a crazy image. Jaylon Smith was nuts to. Alex Smiths…..reading how he almost lost his leg….i don’t recall these in the 90s not saying they didn’t take hits because I’ve seen some hits Troy took look like car crashes.
