There was some light rumors last week about him battling through an injury and then this morning pretty much confirmed it with Smith not being at practice and not being with the rehab group.

Add more pressure to Guyton, bass is solid but it does affect you playing right next to a backup instead of a fringe top 5 guard in the league

This probably happened in practice last week or possibly even in the weightroom, who knows?

While it's not bad news, it could have been worse. When reports came out that he wasn't at practice thoughts shifted to something a lot more serious. I suspect they move Nick Leverett to the 53 until Smith comes back.

Bass is a starting caliber left guard. If you have to have an injury, this is where you'd want it.
