Dak's complete regular-season and postseason record broken down

Is there no record of curtains being drawn at Jerry World? All games should be on Saturdays. He can't make oopsies. Overall just stinks in the playoffs. Don't eat turf, Dak...not good at this stage of the season and OL health. The season needs to be shortened to 12 games and end in December. Throws lots of TD's, and limits incompletions. He probably needs glasses; can't win Sunday nights

Nothing wrong with stats. Like any good science....the method needs adhered to.

Use and read stats with great caution.

These empty calorie stats.... when did they start recording them, because I've only heard of these particular stats after Dak came into the league. Is Dak the only NFL quarterback to get these?

What other quarterbacks have acquired "empty calorie stats"? I haven't heard that category attached to any other quarterbacks names that I recall.

Have any HOF quarterbacks ever accumulated any of these stats, and if so do they separate them from the overall career stats?
 
In the 2 games the team has won he had 5 TD's and 1 INT while scoring an average of 27.5 points (Good, Dak played well vs a 10-6 team and an 8-9 team.)

In the 5 games the team has lost he had 9 TD's and 6 INT's while scoring an average of 22.8 points (Poor, with most of those points coming in the 3rd - 4th)

In example of the 3rd and 4th scoring

2017 vs Packers 18 out of 31 points scored in the 4th Quarter after being down by 3 scores

2022 vs 49'rs 10 out of 17 points scored in the 4th Quarter after being down by 3 scores

2023 vs 49'rs 6 out of 12 points coming in last play of third and 4th Quarter after being down by 2 scores

2024 vs Packers 25 points out of 32 points coming in the 3rd and 4th Quarters after being down by by 41 points

All QBs who don't leave the game or give up acquire them. But those other QBs have real results to compensate. When you bring up postseason or success against our archnemesis teams like SF, Dak's supporters like you rely on stats WITHOUT CONTEXT. When you consider WHEN Dak racked up stats - in losses, in the 4th quarter after starting slow or freezing early in the game - then they are "empty calorie".

Something tells me you know this but believe only Dak is criticized for empty calorie stats. Well, Lamar Jackson may have tons of stats and MVPs, but he ALSO beats Mahomes, Allen and Burrow in the regular season. Yes, he has struggled in the postseason...which is why he is an elite choker. Dak is just a bargain basement choker with empty calorie stats.

Says it all, but the you-know-who's on here don't want to see the truth. This can all change with 1 successful postseason, but those numbers don't lie

We'll address the whole "Dak supporter" thing in a second.

So when did I rely on "Dak's stats without context vs the 49ers" or any other team? Please show me a link, attachment, post, etc of this specific accusation of me relying on Dak's stats in the postseason or against our "arch nemesis as without context...... I'll patiently and respectfully wait for you to provide this proof for me sir.

I will tell you what DEFINITELY is ironic though. Its ironic how you accuse people of making judgements without context, and then point to our arch nemesis 49er games in the post season.

Isn't it amazing how you and others mention the first 49er playoff game loss when the Dallas Cowboys committed a league record 14 penalties? No quarterback in NFL history has ever led a team to a playoff win after 14 teamwide penalties, yet we only hear about what Dak did or didn't do in that specific game.....

where is the context? Dak didn't play great and isn't absolved from his just do critism in that game and others, but why do so many of you conveniently leave out the context of league record penalties in that specific game? Is that not considered context my friend? Interesting...

How about the context of our defenses giving up 200 yards on the ground against our opponents? Dak isn't absolved from his bad play when he does play bad, but why those "contexts" left out in games like that?

When people here have typed 7-9-1 in Dak threads and mentioning how we missed playoffs, where is the context of the historically worst defense ranked 32, while our offense was ranked 3rd or 4th?

Now on to this "Dak supporter" thing.

What's the excuse for Dak's underwhelming performance against the 49ers in the 2nd play off defeat? From memory Purdy was sacked more than Dak which would perhaps suggest offensive line protection was adequate enough for him to have got it done.

In reality we argue over the same points every - neither of us will ever change our mind on our original viewpoint so it's a waste of time covering old ground.

You always bring up Stafford in an attempt to prop up Dak when forgetting that he mostly played on some awful teams particularly dreadful offensive lines at the Lions. Far, far worse teams that what Dak has had at his disposal. A better comparison for Dak wouldn't be a league MVP and Superbowl winner but someone like Alex Smith or Kirk Cousins.

I never gave Dak any excuses for anything. I just brought up the fact that there are other major reasons for our downfall in those situations, not just Dak. Yes Dak played bad at times, thats just the truth.

But in most cases, all the ingredients of those outcomes aren't always brought forth when describing how that "playoff dish" was made.

Thats like someone describing how a pizza is made from scratch and the only thing they mention is a pepperoni. Just a pepperoni alone doesn't describe how to make a pizza from scratch.

With that said, I apologize in advance for erasing your accusations of "bringing Stafford up in an attempt to prop up Dak". That doesn't even make sense.

I bring up Stafford, a 1st round draft pick who was drafted to be a franchise quarterback, who was given all these excuses as to why he didn't win his first playoff game until his 12th year in the NFL after being told by many here that GOOD QUARTERBACKS elevate the play of the players around them, while discussing Dak.

Thats not propping up Dak, that is just speaking truth.

If people create the narrative that a good quarterback has to elevate the players around him, then I have no problem with that. If people use the narrative that football is a team game that relies on the players and coaching staff, then im cool with that too.

My only thing is, you can't have one set of expectations for success when judging one quarterback..... then give a different quarterback excuses with a different set of circumstances in the same situations.

Yes, Stafford has turned out to be an elite quarterback, but he wasn't elite for many seasons. The year he won the Superbowl with the Rams, he led the league in interceptions. Thats not trying to prop up any other quarterback, thats just real life facts.

With all due respect to Matt Stafford, I truly believe that there are 12 other quarterbacks who would have won a Superbowl with THAT Rams team that season.

To conclude, Superbowl wins aren't quarterback stats, they are team stats. If a Superbowl win is what you're using to prop up Stafford, explain why guys non-elite quarterbacks like Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles and Brad Johnson have the same ring count as an elite quarterback like Matthew Stafford?

Probably because it still takes a team to win a Superbowl, not just a quarterback. No quarterback has ever won a Superbowl by themselves and no quarterback ever will.

This is a great and very informative breakdown of how our offense performed vs different levels of competition in the playoffs.

Just for context, I thought I'd chime in on what the other part of our team looked like in these situations so we can get a total outlook on why we didn't play well as a complete team.

I have said that many times ....... the offense and defense has played poorly in the playoffs compared to the regular season.

In the 2 games won the defense let the opposing offense score an average of 18 points. (Very good)

In the 5 games lost the defense let the opposing offense score an average of 31 points. (Horrible, unacceptable)

Bingo! If it is one player, I blame the player. If it's across the line, TE, WR ...I blame the QB/coach. Romo realized this early in his career when he was being goofy and getting killed. He was plagued by jumpy line play. It was only after he matured and realized he had to set the tone in practice, on the sidelines, etc...only then did the problem get fixed.
 
So Dak feasts against weak teams, does well when he limits turnovers and is kept upright, and does well when he runs with the ball more. Numbers are clear. Without the numbers I would say the same. The times rushing number is a big one for me. I think this is a very important element for Dak to succeed. I worry about a 33 year old doing it well though.
