Why have the Cowboys opened the season on the road four straight years and 6 out of the last seven?

Same for closing the season. They rarely get a home game, and never 2 home games.
But finish with 2 road games often. Many times finish 3 or 4 on the road.

Last year it was better. But this year finish 3 games of five on the road.
But 2 of those road games, have a bye week in between. 2 home games, then a road game to finish at Washington.
So no so bad.

It’s unfair for the other teams for this juggernaut of a franchise to open at home.

Not gonna whine about the schedule but god forbid Dallas open at home at noon against a non NFCE opponent lol

While reminiscing about how Tom Landry absolutely owned opening weekend of the NFL vs his competition, I was kinda shocked when I saw the numbers.
There are stats and then there are trends.

●All Time Record:
The Dallas Cowboys hold an all-time opening day record of 41-24-1 (.629 winning percentage), which ranks among the best in the NFL.

●Record Win Streak:
The franchise won 17 consecutive season openers from 1965 to 1981, which stands as an NFL record.

●Tom Landry Era:
Legendary head coach Tom Landry went 22-6-1 in season openers.

Here's the part that really blew me away.

●The Dallas Cowboys have absolutely dominated the New York Giants on opening day, holding an 11-1 all-time record in their 12 season-opening meetings.

●The Lone Loss:
The Giants' only opening-day victory against Dallas came on September 11, 2016, in a tight 20-19 win. That game also marked the NFL debut of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.

●Primetime Perfection:
The rivals have opened the season against each other in primetime five times since 2012, and the Cowboys have won all five.

●Historic Shutout:
Their last opening-week meeting occurred to start the 2023 season, when Dallas delivered a 40-0 blowout at MetLife Stadium. It stands as the largest shutout victory in Cowboys history and the worst home shutout loss in Giants history.

The research was easy work, a quick Google search was all it was. The post wasn't meant to be proof that the Cowboys were going to win. It was just a little reminder how things have turned out over the 66 years of opening games of Cowboys football. Nothing more, nothing less.

I've remembered quite a few opening days that are pretty solid but you know the other teams play football too you're gonna lose some but some of the losses that was more impressed I mean the way they played Tampa Bay a few years back wasn't that Tampa Bay Super Bowl year with Tom Brady Cowboys came out and battled They should have probably won that game but once again their defense has let them down..

Last year they should have won that game I mean CD lamb dropped a couple key passes late that were wide open well designed and Sanders fumbles the ball inside the 5 yard line those things happened in the second half when our actual defense who sucked the rest of the year actually played well in the in the back half of that game and the Cowboys should have won and I remember those so yeah I mean there's gonna be some battles probably Sunday night it's not gonna be a walk through Harbaugh's gonna have them prepared That team hates us because we're like 14 and three against them in the last 17 games they want to beat us really bad and they're at home it's the weekend of 9/11 new York is really hyped up right now..

And I promise you those fans are gonna be lathered up in more ways than one this is not gonna be an easy task II think people realize yes it's New York and it's opening game it's a division rival but remember it's 9/11 weekend They are absolutely been doing nothing but having the don't ever forget type activities lots of parties lots of events new York is hopping right now..

Yeah, Lamb really had a terrible game last year vs the eagles. If he made some of those catches the Cowboys would have won.
Of course then we probably wouldn't have gotten Caleb Downs in the draft.

Exactly same as if we would have kept everyone in and tried to beat the Giants at the end of the year they're bragging about that win as if we actually had any type of resistance...

Oh man do I hate when the Cowboys do that.
Usually the Cowboys try to win meaningless game. I was extremely happy when we started sitting players.
I can't believe the giants, sitting on the 1st pick in the draft started winning meaningless games. That's usually what we do. Lol
