He’s working with the worst defense in the NFL from last year. They weren’t going to be the 85 Bears this year. Need to see if he can make the necessary changes for week 2. Not a good start for him, obviously.

What are the cowboys? Some developmental league for coaches and players? If you're not ready, you're not ready. This was one of the worst defensive performances I've seen. Why isn't it taking the Giants 50 years to rebuild? How did a team with a new head coach decimate us when we restocked our defense cupboard? If Jackson Dart shredded this team, what will Mahomes or any of the other top qbs do? There's not one positive you can take away from this defense. They didn't stop the run, they didnt' stop the pass. Looked completely confused... Maybe we'll wait 2 years for this guy to develop and get the defense halfway passable.

Lets hope the "brain trust" doesn't decide to save the season by selling the farm for Max Crosby. He wont get them over the hump.

He would help, maybe considerably.

One of the big issues with this defense is the edge....not just rushing the passer, but can't even contain bootlegs. Max is a MUCH better Edge player (smarter and way more accomplished).

Still need a viable FS, still need impact from the LBs, and still need a more aggressive defensive scheme on 1st down. Can't just sit back and play BBDB. The Cowboys defense has to SET THE TONE on 1st down. They have to show 9 and 10 in the box, even if they all drop out at the snap. CP is going to have to turn these games into more of a chess match, getting in the QB and OC's heads. He let Dart off the hook tonight. That's on CP.

This was always a longterm build. No rookie safety makes a lass defense; he’s probably the only guy you want to keep longterm from that secondary. Winters who was gonna be benched by SF is probably the only other guy in your entire back 7 worth keeping longterm.

Not a lot of great defenses with situations like that.

Parker needs time, and Dallas still needs to add pieces and continue to build. Expecting a day1 quick fix is not how it usually works

Beyond terrible, it was atrocious.

Not a single adjustment.

They kept throwing in the flats for 10 yards on nearly every single play when they weren't running it down our throats.

Doesn't matter who the players are....Doesn't matter who the DC is......this franchise continues showing their defense can not stop the run and struggles in coverage.

You have to give the guy a chance to find his footing as a first-time coordinator, but yeah, that was a really bad showing. We need to see some improvement over the next few weeks, or it might be something they have to consider.

I get that we don't have an uber-talented defense, but come on.......they were getting absolutely dunked on all game. That can't happen.

That's a little reactionary. We hired a first time DC. There will be a learning curve.

I'm disappointed too. But the front office continues to hamper the coach by not equipping them with players.

We entered this offseason with questions s at LB, Edge, and CB. Lo and behold we can't stop the run, rush the passer, or figure out where receivers are.

Parker deserves a shot, as bad as that was. Jerry and Stephen don't have an excuse

Let's not. First game calling plays going against a seasoned veteran HC, fielding a largely reorganized defense coming off of one of the worst defensive seasons I've ever seen. Give him some time, see if he can correct course.

This was supposed to be the cowboys superbowl year. This isn't a developmental rebuild team. If he can't get it done, he needs to be replaced. What did we spend all that capital on defense if this looks EXACTLY like last year's team if not worse?
