Are you sure? One that blitz, Downs will do to every QB like he did to Dart. He won't get those same chances playing FS. The lack of pass rush and terrible LBer play is what lost us the game, imo.

Yes, Downs will be better on the back end creating turnovers. Because he's back there doesn't mean he can't get called upon to blitz every now and then.

Dart isn’t gonna last very long taking shots like that. That was game 1 and he took some good hits. Wait till he faces a real defense

It is going to be hard to get Barham off the field in my opinion once he starts. Will he make mistakes, of course he will, but we have no one else that brings any kind of physicality like he does.

Who cares…..each game players on the winning team make wrong plays and winning coaches call a flub up

I like youth but I think we might’ve had too much in our linebacker core in Sunday. I rewatched the tape and it confirmed what initially thought: our linebackers were the worse performing group this Sunday. They didn’t recognize plays happening in front of them most of the time. They ran into blockers. They were getting fooled by ball gakes and playaction. Even when they were free and could make the play as the closet defender to the ballcarrier they didn’t. Lawrence twice had Skatebo at the line of scrimmage with a clean target and nobody between and he got left I the dust like skatebo was some speedy type running back. His reaction was that slow to what was happening in front of him.

The best cowboys teams prior to McCarthy getting here always had really good instinctive linebacker play this millennium

He'll be starting these next two games with Overshown out. If he proves himself during those two games, Overshown will likely vie with Winters for playing time. I can't see I saw anything from Winters that tells me he should start, but we could say that about most of our defense.
