Exactly. He probably could have ran for the first down when he first moved out of the pocket. After that, the smarter thing would have been to take the sack. But if you are going to throw it away, there is no need to launch it almost 40 yards downfield.

Bottom line, he made several mistakes that a veteran QB shouldn't make in that situation. He admits it. His worshippers cannot.

He didn't let him swing the bat much. Not a bad plan, just more of a statement as to how it's not the Quarterbacks fault.

I think every team tries to keep the opposing offense off the field. Any team facing the Cowboys offense is going to want to play keep away. The way to combat that strategy is don't allow them to convert 3rd downs at a 9 of 11 pace.

pretty sure he moved about 10 yards backwards out of the pocket when he was running for his life....

"Cowboys just didn't get the at-bats" Part of the reason for that is because Giants went 9 for 10 on 3rd down..... so they were on the field forever. He echoes my thoughts.

Defense is unlikely to play that bad for a 2nd time in a row, he continues. And that's true.... just statistically difficult to have 2 games in a row where we give up every single 3rd down. The only 3rd down we made was Kenny Clark's stop against Skattebo in the first quarter.

Not sure what you're trying to say. It clearly shows him throwing off his back foot. You can clearly see hes throwing to sideline. So either WR wasn't anywhere near where they were supposed to be or he was heaving it out of bounds.

What say you about defense letting the giants go 55 yards in 20 seconds?

well I bet that stat might actually be surprising stat for a lot of QBs. if you throw the ball a lot, either you are behind or your running game sucks so you have no choice....
if we run the ball effectively ala giants, then you don't need to throw as much. giants ran the ball 37 times. we ran the ball 18 times.

that's not a balance offense for cowboys.

Any quarterback, even when throwing off balance, should easily be able to throw out of bounds near the sideline, within five to ten yards passed the line of scrimmage. That was his intention, in my opinion.

The Ravens are 27-25 when Lamar Jackson throws the ball 30 times or more

Some teams just do better the less their Qbs throw

Considering that he was closer to the sideline. Hell compared to what happened it might have just been worth it to eat the sack.
