Dak is a greater QB than Aikman?

Meredith is 3. It's really not close. Morton prolly is 4.
I can understand the argument for Meredith and the special place he holds in franchise history as the Cowboys first QB, but for me I would place him 6th. Lower career winning percentage than the others in front of him and the good part of his career came in his final 4 seasons. Craig Morton started what 4 seasons of games for Dallas? Good winning percentage, but hard to place him above the other guys that contributed more longer.

I can’t say who better but i think Dak and Romo have similar success if they had Aikmans teams.
I disagree. On their teams, both Romo and Dak did NOT elevate their games come playoff time. Aikman consistently played better in the playoffs than in the regular season with his teams. His team didn't change, but he elevated himself.

I'm not convinced that many peopel disagree with you.

It doesn't mean any certain player is immune from credit or criticism.

I also think a lot of people are hypocritical about it.

Just an example not comprehensive but:

If dak loses it's a team game
If he wins he's a top 5 QB.
I’ll take your word for it.

I guess you haven’t seen:

If Dak wins, the other team sucked or it’s because of the rest of the team.

If Dak loses, it’s his fault, no one else.

You’ve seen It, don’t deny it. ;)

Aikman is the best thrower of a football who ever donned a Cowboys uniform. Dak doesn't make the top 5 list, prolly not top 10. I mean, this isn't even close.

The Eli Aikman comparison is one of the most inane things ever said on this site.
Eli was a better thrower of the football than Troy.
He had a stronger arm, especially down the field — able to layer deep balls over defenders with real touch, which is how he built his reputation on go-routes and back-shoulder throws. His two Super Bowl MVP runs were built on clutch, high-difficulty throws in big moments (the Tyree helmet catch drive, the Manningham sideline throw against Foxworth are both testaments to arm strength and placement under pressure).
Troy Aikman was more mechanically polished —one of the more fundamentally sound passers of his era, with excellent footwork, timing, and accuracy on intermediate routes. He wasn't asked to push the ball vertically as often in Dallas's offense (which leaned on Emmitt Smith.

I think it’s easier to elevate your game on a dynasty led by Jimmy Johnson than it is a Jerry Johnson manufactures team coached by Wade Phillips or Jason Garrett

And you wonder why you’re considered a giants fan?

I despise the Giants but the facts are the facts, Eli Manning won two Super Bowl MVP’s - he beat Tom Brady.
I mean, we can’t argue certain things.

Aikman facing the current Eagles defense would challenge him. It’s a different game today and players on defense are faster than Aikman ever had to concern himself with.
If Aikman would have grown up around it, he would have adapted. And players were better back then even if they weren’t faster.

Better is subjective. Impossible to know how guys back then would play today and vice versa. Its all just fan lip service.

He didn’t do anything. The giants did. And he did play great at times but he was often bailed out by his D. There’s more but I’m done for now. Makes me sick just taking about Eli, especially the way you fawn over him like you have a teen crush. LOL

What other dynasty was around during the cowboys SB runs? The one SB winning 9ers? Maybe some of those teams that didn’t win any during the cowboys run? The previous dynasty died with Joe Montana and the next one started with Brady.

49ers for sure was a dynasty.

no way.
i love dak and he's worked hard at his game.
but troy's timing and accuracy were exceptional.
tough as nails.
and the bigger the stage, the better he played.
he's in a class with joe montana and tom brady....from the 90s to now...those are the 3 best playoff QBs i saw.
8 ball was special.
