Our defense isn't great we know that. But our qb gets paid to make plays when we need him most. He had 2 opportunities to close this game out of us and couldn't.

He choked. Pickens was wide open and he flung it over his head because he's a panicky head case that chokes in big moments...over and over again. Blame defense all you want, they suck, but he had his chance to win, and he Dak'd it all up.

I must've been watching some other game then. Pickens was nowhere close to being wide open. But Dak should have at least tried to get it to him but he didn't want to risk a turnover.

We haven’t had that quarterback since Troy. Even Romo was shaky in close games. He did beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in a similar situation a few years ago.

Both at the time of the wins. Next week if cj stroud shows up and it's a 4th quarter game I'd bet the house Dak chokes because houston has a tough defense and they haven't given up on the season yet.

That’s called a strawman argument.

I never said Dak was immune from criticism. In fact, I’ve said he HAS made bad throws.

Do you recall when Dak threw the incomplete pass in the end zone to CD, and CD looked at him and made a hand gesture? The announcer said that CD was saying “I know what you were thinking there”.

Both the WR and the QB are reading the defense and adjusting their decision based on what they’ve read. They ought to read the same thing. Sometimes they don’t, and it looks like a bad throws when, in fact, they just read it differently.

Dak can throw the ball, but someone has to catch the ball. When that doesn’t happen, it’s not automatically the fault of the QB (even when this forum desperately wants to blame Dak).

Sometimes it WAS a bad throw. The very best QB’s in history have bad throws and even lots of interceptions.

This forum has a lot of people who think in very binary terms. If Dallas wins, it was this or that or maybe lots of reasons.

If Dallas loses, it’s because Dak sucks.

Statistics and some knowledge of football proves that to be largely untrue.

I can name 25 QB’s I’d take Dak over every single game, and only a handful I’d perhaps want instead.

That’s me.

I can think of 25 defenses I’d rather have right now.

In my view, the conversation we will begin to read about is shortly to be “how long will Dallas continue with CP as defensive coordinator”. 3 games in is too early, but the early returns are pretty terrible.

One play was on him. It's like blaming Burrow for getting sack fumbled on the last play against the Steelers. One play.

The bigger macro issue was Schottenheimer who called a crappy game, conservative red zone, afraid of Lamar and the offense.

Also Schoonmaker. Yes, he also had one bad play but he also gets to take a lot more plays off. Dak is on every single play he's asked to make something happen. So of course he's gonna have a few bad plays. Just bad timing it happened on the last one.

It always happens in big moments with Dak! Both defenses were bad. The better QB won!
