same hereI feel better that the 2nd is in 2028 but not looking forward to their contract negotiations.

You don't make this move w/o knowing your exit.............Pickens or Porter will have a new deal before the 2027 free agency period opens. If they tag Porter they aren't tagging Pickens a 2nd time.
Or work out a long-term or short-term deal. His salary for this year (minus signing bonus) is $4 million. He might be willing to take a two-year deal where we had a sizable signing bonus. Let's say we gave him a $10 million bonus, adding a $5 million cap hit, then throw in a non-guaranteed $20 million base for next year that allows us to move on with a $5 million hit if he doesn't work out. If he does work out, we have him under contract but can try to negotiate a long-term deal to bring down the base that we gave him.Apparently NO new contract ...........we have him for final year 2026 and can tag him 2027
You’re right. I meant 2028I think it’s 2028…even better.
Why do you think they made the trade? I think this is Porter’s last year under contract as well.No. This trade has nothing to do with him.
Cowboys fans are never happy. Jerry makes good trades and people are mad. Jerry does nothing and people are mad. I think some of you just like to be mad no matter what
Why did the Panthers trade CMC to the Forty Whiners? If Porter is so good why would the Steelers trade him for the 64th overall pick in the 2028 draft and a conditional 6th?
If it makes it any better. We still need more edges and Lb’s. That’s why I’m kind of glad they did this trade for porter now.You have laid down the gauntlet, my friend.
Me 3.same here
At the moment, Revel and Durant are both out so they still need a nickel corner. It'll be interesting to see how we shuffle the deck, though, considering how many safeties we have sidelined. For the Cowboys to make this trade they must be planning to play Downs at safety.
