Not undercutting him as an addition, but in fairness, in 2 out the 5 snaps shown he had bracketed coverage or zone help.

TNew, but Porter is bigger and more physical than him. He's top 5 today.

But he's too physical at times and gets some penalties. Most teams just choose to stay away from him.

Let him play man, and zone everything else.

I’m really not at all familiar with different types of coverage schemes, and who might fit in which spot…but I can say with reasonable probability that Bland isn’t earning his paycheck.

For those that are familiar….could the Porter acquisition allow Bland to move to a spot where he can be more effective?

or is he just a fifth round pick that ended up with a 90 million dollar deal because of Quinn’s scheme?

Nickel is his best spot,he is good in short areas but loses his guy while trailing but the problem is CP WANTS to play Downs as the Nickel majority of the time.

Bland had all those pick 6's and was all-pro on the outside as the #2 CB.

Is that what’s still going on even with Thompson out? Not sure of the hesitation to just play him at safety, but I couldn’t know…

And all of this very impressive for a guy that has no camp no practice and wasn't playing the first 3 games That kind of blows up that whole theory about needing preseason..lol

good comp, I forgot all about BJ but that's why I went to Brandon Carr he's like him didn't get a lot of fan favorites not having interceptions but I don't think people appreciate guys who can just lock down and cover their guy and do their job sure he's gonna get beat every once in awhile but it's so crazy to think his whole career three full seasons he's only giving up one touchdown but no touchdowns in two seasons now that's impressive given the fact that I think Bland has already given up three this year..lol

The cool thing is this dude has that kind of wingspan a dude is when he has his hands up over his head or out to his side he's got all kinds of range to help himself he doesn't have to be speedy but I can see why he can get his hands in a lot of these PB us It's crazy how long his wingspan is we've been want one of those tall rangy long armed corners for a long time and maybe they got one now..

I can’t wait until he learns what this defense is trying to do and get to know his fellow players tendencies. Heck, he really isn’t even in football shape yet. Eventually, I hope the plan is stick him on every teams #1 and let the others do their thing.

Not in shape just yet. He handled Nico in the playoffs last year. Collins did nothing that game.
