Guess Witherspoon cant cover either, since hes given up 8 more receptions.

You know, the Witherspoon whos supposedly the best corner in the NFL.

It's all about the pressure in my opinion.

Pressure can certainly cover for a lack of speed or cover skills

I don’t think he’s ever been a great cover guy. His best years was when Micah was terrorizing QBs

I just have to laugh.

Last week Bland was playing with:
Bell, Carson, Reddy Stewart, Speed and Clark. None of which should be playing. Half of which shouldnt be on an active roster.

Bland has given up 13 receptions in 4 games. One of which was clear offensive pass interference. He has had very good coverage.

All the experts jumping on him because he gave up the long play yesterday.

Durrant looked far worse than Bland.

If we can eventually get guys healthy and playing together, the defense will get better.

We have a short week, so not much will change. Hopefully Porter plays more and Revel is a full go.

The Packer game will be the test for me. Maybe Thompson will be back. Porter should be ramped up. Revel stays healthy. Lets see what adjustments CP makes.

Bland has never been a great cover guy and he’s not much different than Diggs as he’s feast or famine

The larger problem for bland is that we aren’t getting much pressure and these receivers aren’t just open they are open by a large margin sometimes

Not sure if that zone coverage lapses or talent lapses or both but we are going to have to make the qb feel a little more pressured or the dbs are going to continue to get cooked

I’ll say they have been hit hard with injury bug but they were getting roasted week 1

I dont remember very good. I remember decent when we were getting Micah pressure. Diggs was decent when we were getting to the QB as well. Maybe injuries have slowed both of them but I wouldn't put either of them in De ion range and of course that's asking a lot.I wouldn't put either of the in Terrence Newman range.

I truly believe that if we can get pressure Bland will once again be ok.

That Bland contract is looking asinine. Every team we play will target him often.

Yep, that's about as good as it can get fully healthy although I think Durant might be a better option in the slot over Bland.

I know it would never happen because of Bland's paycheck but I'm just being honest in my opinion on who can cover better.

He is a man press guy. The zone just doesn't work with this group. They have no pressure up front and zero discipline across the board. Bland needs to get up on the line of scrimmage and just try to out dawg receivers. He doesn't have the speed and natural athleticism to recover in a zone.

Getting healthy bodies at DB position itself feels like a stretch and so we can’t plan too much ahead. But in this case , batting it down shall be the primary goal
