The game was going much as I was worried it would with Houston looking to get its offense going against one of the worst defenses in NFL and their stout defense stifling our offense .

And after our horrific coaching providing them an opportunity to go up by 10 right before half I was worried it was their game to win.

But then something happened at halftime . Perhaps they realized their season was on the brink of a Freefall if they dropped to 1-3. IDK but Dak and the offense turned a 360 and moved down the field with ease in a 4 play drive that provided a new confidence we could stay in this game .

It went back and forth in 3rd qtr until Cowboys finally took lead early in 4th qtr but Houston wasn’t done yet forcing Dallas to make one last drive with about 2 minutes left.

Dak and our offense showed us why we can stay in games . It took 34 points as our defense while showed some glimpses of improvement still gave up 30 points.

And penalty prone Texans showed us why they were 0-3. Cowboys will continue struggling against better teams but with our QB and offense we can stay in games with a shot to win.

While we can be thankful today and look forward to games against similar or lesser teams we will still continue to totally lean on our offense .

But this defense has to continue to improve . And strive to hold opponents under 30 points. We can’t expect our offense to score 30+ every game especially against top defenses .

For now we can thank Dak as he probably has at least for now saved the season and potential dumpster fire roasting our coaching staff would have rightfully inflamed.

And our schedule looks more favorable coming up against 0-4 Tampa without their QB. Remember our two wins are against 1-3 and 0-4 teams . And both losses against 3-1 teams.

So we shouldn't get too excited. But for now and after last weeks heartbreaker, enjoy the win. Thanks Dak. And what a game Lamb.

It was very gratifying to see Dak and CD just refuse to let us lose yesterday. I openly admit the whole team's lack of fire in the first half had me wondering what o Earth was wrong with them and seriously pondering a 10 loss season. But something lit a fire in the guys at the half. Both the offense and defense stepped it up several notches.. led by Dak and CD. I think what this taught us is that as long as t hose two are in the lineup we're going to have a chance. The pass protection was horrible. The running game was held in check but Dak and CD rescued and Q-Dub and the defense made just enough plays to make the offense's efforts not go to waste. It wasn't the prettiest of wins.. but I'll take it!

I really want to see this offense when it has the chance to bury a team do so. Its like they have to be the cardiac cowboys. Not sure what the diagnosis is. Williams in the running game is a solid goal line guy but he seems slow to me. Their strength is in the receiving corps but you would think that would open up the run game a bit more than it has thus far. Its early though and that was a huge win yesterday.

Its shameful that the offense must score 30 plus to give this team a chance to win. That defense blows so bad. No pressure and average cover skills will kill this team if they dont figure it out quick. Good thing is the NFC East is middling and they have a chance

I know these guys are professionals. I don't want to make excuses here.

But noon game after international travel... I can understand the slow start emotionally.

Also... this 'rivalry' clearly means way more to one side. I'm not saying that's the reason why the game was close when we all thought it shouldn't have been. But if we're talking about fire and passion, those are two things I point to.

Yeah I thought about that too... That coupled with the 4 day turnaround for Thursday night is yet another reminder that the NFL Commissioner is a lifelong Ratscums season ticket holder. This scheduling crap that tries to undermine our season doesn't keep happening by accident.

I think I realized it before the season started, but I've only just remembered that we only have 1 normal home game in our first 7 matchups.

So from the beginning of the season until Nov 1, we have one regular scheduled home game.

That's ridiculous.

What do you mean for now? You sound scared.

Scared, that’s silly after 30 years of this crap . Lol

No, I said for now cause it’s a long season. They could still blow it. Or this defense could be too much to overcome.

Stay scared. I'm not scared. I don't look into the future.

Man the defense being bad actually helps the offense…..and hopefully the defense gets good enough by seasons end that we won’t have to be so reliant on it.

With Philly losing yesterday and us winning I feel we’re back in the nfce hunt. Dak and CD definitely balled out yesterday at a record pace and I think it’s very fair to say they saved the season.

After the first half I was like “we’re done”. The 2nd half, my goodness, they put on a master class. And considering we were playing a string defense.

Yep, Dak, CD, Jevonte, GP and Guyton saved the season. We’re looking at a whole different season going 1-3 instead of 2-2, especially since Eagles look very vulnerable.
