Cee Dee's Interesting comments about last week

I agree with everything you said except your conclusion, though I am not saying you are wrong. It may be true that both BS and Prescott failed but based on the video, I see it differently. You could argue the play choice was a mistake but based on what I saw, this was pretty clearly a 1-look read, either a fade or stop-out.

The situation was 3rd down, 14 seconds remaining, and no timeouts. I’m sure BS said don’t take the sack or throw short of the goal line. The pre-snap read also likely played a role as the corner played straight up with inside help from the safety. To me it looks like they are trying to take away the fade with inside protection against the slant.

As far as whether Lamb was open when the ball was thrown, pause the video at the 19:30 mark and you see that Lamb was still tied up with the defender when Dak released the ball. Could Dak have held the ball longer? Maybe but B. Jones and the DE were in Dak’s lap. If you pause right after the release, you can see that B. Jones was practically standing on Dak’s lead foot a fraction of a second later.

I haven’t seen the comment from BS and hadn’t seen the replay until a few minutes ago because I didn’t care. It was only after reading these comments that I decided to look for myself. If BS said he told him to throw the ball away regardless, that was most likely not true and just him supporting Dak. But I don’t think excuses were necessary because looking at the video, I don’t really have a problem with Dak’s decision.

I just watched it yet again and I guess we'll agree to disagree on Prescott's decision. Pickens actually has his head turned back to find the ball while the ball is still between him and Prescott, with seperation. He would have had a decent chance to catch it if Prescott had put it on target. He would have had a great chance to catch it if Prescott waited a half a second and put it on target.

To me it clearly looks like he had that half second to spare, and then some. If you follow it through after he releases the ball the pass rush never got any closer than it was when he panicked and threw it away. It was less than 2 seconds from snap to throw.

I can post the still shots if someone can tell me how.

When Dak’s arm is going forward, Pickens is locked up and facing the defender while the defender is looking at Dak. When the ball is a few feet out of his hand, Pickens is facing the sidelines and making the turn back while the defender is still looking at Dak.

Schotty was coving for Dak. You really think, after making up his mind to kick the field goal, he wanted Dak to throw the ball away that quick. I'm sure he wanted Dak to run some time off the clock then throw it away.

Lamb in this video is saying Schotty didn't play it safe like he did last week. He was going for the win this week, where as last week he was going for the tie.
so schotty saying he called the play to throw the ball away.
he repeated it during the week
he talked about it in the weekly meetings
players talked about it.

none of that matters, because you will believe your own made up story, because you have to drive your agenda and your goal is to trash dak no matter what.

and schotty also admited he was still thinking about the bad play call, and forgot to tell aubrey/ST coach not to kick it out of the endzone to give ravens the ball at 35.
they also forgot how to defend a hail mary type pass.

so all of those stupidity is Dak's fault?

btw, if you actually watched the play sober, you would see the DE was pushing steele back towards Dak and he was less than a yard away...so how much clock should he have killed there?

lets not forget the stupidity of just throwing away a play for no reason.

Oh it's not nothing to get caught up in. Im not even trying to convince them. I just like putting evidence up against their narratives. The evidence/facts overrides speculation/lies every time.
exactly, evidence and facts showed that the play was called to throw the ball away and that Pickens was covered at the time of the throw and DB had advantage over pickens.
how stupid are people when they see the evidence and still make up crap.

The best way I have found to review these things is to pause the video and you can go frame by frame using the period button and the comma button on your keyboard.

If you do this you can easily track the ball and Pickens frame by frame. The pass rushers as well. The clock as well.

There was nobody near Pickens. If he looked for anything he would have seen that.
Pickens is so open LOL

Schotty told Dak to throw it away. Pickens was wide open and Dak didn't have the intestinal fortitude to override his coach and go for the win by throwing it to a wide open receiver. Rather than go for the win, AND maybe run around to bleed the clock more, Dak decided to throw it away fast and stop the clock. So both Schotty and Dak were responsible, but Schotty was the main culprit. It's that simple.
pickens is so wide open LOL

Your last comment is obviously correct. No coach would say not to throw it to a wide open player, especially George Pickens for the win. And no elite QB would listen even if that's what he heard.
well, schotty did say he called for a throw away. he repeated the same during the week and did say they talked about it in the weekly meeting.

so you think pickens is wide open? LOL

I have done that and have the stills if someone can tell me how to post.

It is clear that Pickens was engaged and facing the defender when his arm was moving forward with no separation. It is also clear that the defender never took his eyes off of Dak after the initial engagement at the line.

Even when the ball is a few feet out of his hand, Pickens is still looking away, the defender is looking at Dak, and there is little separation. It could be argued that the separation came from a push off but Dak can’t throw it him anticipating that.

It is also clear that at the point of release, Jones was so close that it looked like he was standing on Dak’s foot. Maybe he could have bought a half a second…we will never know. But based on the stills, I don’t see how he could even follow through in the time he had.

here is the play when the ball is in the air. the DB clearly had leverage and looking back at the QB reading the play, pickens had his head turned. at the point my concern would have been DB reacting to the throw, stepping in front of it and its a pick 6

Now advance one frame at a time from that point. Watch the ball, Pickens, the pass rushers and the clock.

I dare you.
here is when the ball just left his hand. the DB still has leverage, looking back at the QB, and the throw

here is the next frame. pickens is making his cut, the DB is able to cut him off if the ball is towards him.

he sees the flight of the ball and drops because it looked like a fade

It's easy but you have to use an image hosting site.

I use Postimage.org It's free, bare bones and simple to use.

I'd love to see the rest of the sequence posted. It clearly shows the play was there. At least to me.
