There's a fine line between "proper motivation"/mantra and delusion. Jimmy seemed to always know where the line was. I think Parcells did as well. Unfortunately, Jerry doesn't, Stephen doesn't. (huge problem)...Most coaches and people don't. Reality sometimes has to come into play. The best coaches especially can walk the line, I think..

I wouldn’t take anything Jerry and Stephen says though as gospel. With them I watch their actions. Trading for Porter tells me what they think of their teams. Two years ago when they did nothing in the offseason that told me what they thought. Their actions always tell all.

I'm not a homer and I'm definitely a pessimist but even I realize that the stars are aligning for an easy Cowboys' path this year. We are about to see three straight teams who want their HC fired and there are key starters getting hurt left and right every week. The NFC in general does not look very difficult as there are no dominant teams. Even the 49ers look human and we all know they will get multiple key injuries before we even get to November.

Sometimes it's just better to be lucky than good and right now, this year...the Cowboys are going to be VERY lucky!

I can see the cowboys getting to the playoffs on any given year. It's like I say, it doesn't matter how you get there; you can squeeze in. But what are we going to do in the playoffs is what makes me pessimistic. Coaching doesn't provide leadership or prepare this team. It is up to the players to do so. Do they got the stuff?

For sure lol. I’m under 40 and my kids are Cowboy fans. I hate it too. I honestly didn’t wish this curse on them.

It’s not that mistakes are made but the type of mistakes that are made makes it look like you are in over your head. Sorensen is even worse than Shotty and remained on the staff.

The special teams coach falls into a different class than Shotty.
