Cowboys not making it to post season is by design

The design has been the same for decades, which is win Jerry's way, which is why we never have, never will.
When they won Super Bowl 30, it probably convinced Jerry that the team really could win with just any HC. Except...that team won with the existing stars Jimmy brought in via draft/FA/trades. They Inevitably aged out/retired, and now Jerry had a subpar HC out there coaching a team that wasn't elite anymore.

It has unfortunately continued since. Parcells was hired so the team became relevant enough to get a new stadium from taxpayers. And since, it's been puppet HC after puppet HC.

It's not by designs, it's by delusion from JJ & SJ that they thought they built the right staff and team.

there is no evidence of this, the ONLY evidence we know of, it that the fans get it wrong WHILE Jerry tells you straight to your face "i am NOT interested"

30 plus years and you guys still dont get this.

Let's face it, we're not going to post season. And it's by design. If Jerry wanted us to get to Post Season (and even better, Superbowl), you don't hire coaches and coordinators to learn on the job. If we win a game here and win a game there, great. If we lost a game here, and lose a game there, great... With the coaching situation as it stands today, I'm not going to let a win or loss effect me. If someone like Eberflush or Nolan was our DC, my post would be something different. I would be calling for their jobs but the Joneses chose to hire Parker to learn on the job, Post Season and Superbowl aren't even close to being on their radar (no matter what kind of BS Jerry tries to spew to try to make us believe that he wants to win).

Parker needs at least a full season to learn on the job. Getting upset about their losses this year is only going to effect you.

Of course I want us to make it to post season. Of course I want us to make it to Superbowl. Of course I want us to win the Superbowl. Of course it's designed for us not to be involved so I just choose not to let things like losses bother me.
What? They gave away all their picks and have a 33 year old QB.

Dude, that's absolutely ridiculous. So when he was hiring Reteads, you all didn't like it. I mean, who was? Dan Quinn and Mike Mccarthy. Along with Mike Nolan, Matt Eberfluence. There have been others. I mean, you guys absolutely didn't want experienced people because you called them retreads. You know, HARBUAGH is a retread, right??

They were just trying to get younger coaches But they'll never win with you all. They tried to get Christian Parker. Most people were on board with him. He was looked at as one of the next. Up and coming coordinators. So they went and got him, but they couldn't know that they had 5. Major injuries and going from the 43 to the 34 wasn't gonna have some. Issues. They knew that. The fans knew that. But y'all are giving up already. It's ridiculous. You all will never be happy. They're not selling out. They've never tanked before. Ever. And now our top draft pick. Is going to the Jets. You think they're doing that on purpose. And Brian Schottenheimer is very experienced. He's just never been a head coach. That doesn't mean he hasn't been around teams since he was a kid under his dad. He's been on Super Bowl teams with the Seattle Seahawks. He was the coordinator there. You all think these mistakes only happen to young coaches. You think bad games only happen to head coaches? Then tell me how a lot of the teams that were winless until last night. Are led by very experienced coaches. We can go around the league. There are a lot of them that are under 500, that are experienced coaches. You think that that would fix things here, but yet you all didn't want one of those. Coach is going around the league. Most of you all wanted Mike Mccarthy gone in a hurry.

Look, it was horrible display of football. Last night, for whatever reason, nothing came together. That doesn't mean anything. This season's not over. I watched the season just like this in 2018 where they started out three wins, 5 losses, turned it around to five wins and three losses and went to the second round of the playoffs. It's not over, but you all are ridiculous. You will never be happy until they get lucky getting a championship level coach. But they did that with Parcells. Then he win anything because when he was here, I don't remember him doing anything. I believe it was a first round out a 1 and out. He also not doing anything in the Playhouse. I know he was rebuilding right 0. That's kind of what they're doing. They're rebuilding on the fly. They're not tearing it down. But they are changing a lot. The roster, the coaches, everything. If you don't want to read this, I don't really care. For all I care. I don't care if I booted off this place. Some of y'all are insane with your comments. They are not doing this on purpose. They are just having a hard time adjusting. And it's been the defense, yes. Yeah, three years in a row. Very bad defense. Really bad defense. In 2020, we've had some bad defenses. They're trying now to flip it all and go a different direction, and you are not patient enough to wait. Total Ugg.   :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

At this point it's hard seeing them make the playoffs.

But by design??? After all the off season moves they made I can't connect the dots.
I mean, lost and completely lacking football knowledge? Beyond any doubt, But strategizing losing?

I think the OP mistakes the FO being really football dumb as strategizing.

Eh..we are mid at best just enough to keep fans entertained through December . think 9-8 8-9 lol

This has all the makings of Jerry's epic all time fail. If we don't make the playoffs, and we don't have a good draft pick to show for it, that's about as bad as you can get.
Watch this thing go totally sideways and we get a top 5 pick........and give it to the Jets.:lmao2:

It get you overall sentiment. More than anything, I think this crystalizes what has always been Jerrys position "coaching is not all that important if you have a lot of talent". Jerry thinks he has a lot of talent. And he does have some top tier players at key positions. And he believed the talent of those players would elevate the lack of talent at other positions and/or the inexperience of the coaches.

While it should not SHOCK those of us who have been around this long....it should scare us that Jerry has not learned much in the 30+ years of running this franchise. And at 84...he ain't about to learn nothing new. He will ride this out doing it his way.

Well said.

I think they heard the fans and saw an opporunity to get younger, get one of the UPCOMING good minds out there that were available. Is he good (Parker) who knows, or maybe he was good with other teams due to organization goals/ team structure/players
Only way Dallas gets younger is Jerry steps down as GM.

As an uber narcissist convinced of his own genius, at what point does Jerry ever see the error of his ways?

If this response was directed to me, you totally missed my whole point and wasted alot of time on this response. I never said anything about retreads. My point is yes, there are many on here that (in a round about way) think if we don't make it to the playoffs this year, the world is going to end. What I was saying was why get in a tizzy? Chill out. If Jerry wants us to get to the playoffs like he says he wants us to, you don't hire coaches to learn on the job. Me? I'm not expecting us to do anything this year or even next year (if CP stays on as DC). If we have a winning season this year, great. If we have a losing season this year, great.

Mike McCarthy was our HC for 5 years. What was our record those 5 years? Year 1, losing season (because McCarthy was cleaning up the podunk that Jason Garrett left behind), years 2, 3 and 4, 12-5, Year 5, a losing season because the Joneses decided to get rid of Parsons, Diggs and Lawrence and not doing anything to replace them I liked Dan Quinn and Mike Zimmer. I am of the belief that had Jerry not done this, we could have had yet another winning season. Between this and hiring coaches to learn on the job, this is us not getting anywhere by design. This is in fact on purpose.

To some fans, Post Season and the Superbowl are all that matter. Me? Of course I want us to get to the playoffs and to the Superbowl however, I've lost faith that we will see a Superbowl anytime soon. But I will continue to cheer them on anyways.

I will re-iterate, Given the circumstances, I'm not in any hurry of us getting to the playoffs let alone to the Superbowl. If we have a winning season this year, great. If we have a losing season this year, great. In 2-3 years from now, if we have the same coaching staff, then yes, I'm going to be one of the ones that go into a tizzy if we don't make the playoffs.

Gotta disagree. You just made my point but trying to use it to define yours. Jerry hires coaches like these (Remember Garrett?) because he can control them. Jerry believes he can win with any coach/player because Jerry believes with everything that he is, that those Super Bowl wins were all because of him and he will die trying to prove that to the masses.

Stephen is just as arrogant. Nothing will ever change in my lifetime.

It's my fault: I planned a vacation for my wife and I in mid-January and didn't want to be watching football. Next year I'll do better.
