Signed by Cowboys Mike Pettine to join Cowboys staff

[Rockport]

Kinda sounded like he was trying not to use the phrase "bail Parker out".

He was certainly weighing his words carefully.

Got to love being a fan of a team that makes it up as they go. Obviously the owners have no clue what they need, even after almost 40 years.

You wonder if there was even the slightest awkward moment for Jerry or Stephen when it was decided after 5 games of struggling, they needed to bring someone in to help Parker.

This hire is not exactly a screaming endorsement for CP. Quite the opposite.

[Risen Star]

The HC explains the whole thing in today’s presser.

Is this the culture change, bro?

[Rayman70]

This hire needed done immediately the next day after we lost last week. Better late than never. Not sure it helps though. We are woefully lacking. Was watching the Ravens game last night. Noticed Atlanta had talent all over the place. Both teams on d. Looked loaded. I noticed the ravens knew to cover the RB in the flat most of the time, unlike us. We get fooled easily. Hope it changes.

Id agree

We can only hope it was very awkward.

That can’t inspire confidence in the players towards Parker. It’s good they’re doing something but just shows what a clown show operation things are.

Eagles did the same thing when they brought in Matt Patricia a few years ago.

[Daillest88]

I like this actually. He coaches to his players strengths.. press coverage.. gooood

[beware_d-ware]

This is BAD bad. I can't remember the last time a rookie coordinator got a training wheels "supervisor" coach in-season, not even to mention that it's only Week 6.

[Ranching]

Good job.

C’mon Rock, now people are gonna hate me too!!! Lol

It's firing your DC without doing it basically..

I thought Schotty said the solution was in the room.

He didnt say what room to be fair

[WTtoolman]

They’ll ask him to punch a time clock & he will quit.

You leave Dan Reeves out of this!!

[Bagman]

I thought Schotty said the solution was in the room.

There was a pay phone in the room

[CowboyChris]

what’s that old cliche…. too many cooks in the kitchen? yeah good luck

I believe this is what Parker needs. He needs a mentor to help him adjust and call plays.

Fangio pretty much said he was raw and would need some time and not everyone is able to adjust right away.

Think this is a different situation. Pettine was offered a role here but opted to stay retired. He knows he is coming in here with the intention to help Parker out.

[Gambit]

I like it. We need help. we got some help. What's not to like...

Nothing
People just have to get their snark on.

[Gambit]

We don't know that it's his idea.

Parker wanted him to join staff before camp, he declined.
