It's a double-popcorn day apparently ...

Parker aint happy.

It could be great, it could be awful. At least it something. But who is the actual DC?

[jazzcat22]

Who cares, as long as whatever they do, the defense improves.

[Coogiguy03]

Cowboys low key admitting they thought they did something great by hiring a young and upcoming coach, but everyone can't handle the spotlight of it all!

Whatever they do even if there's improvement, fans won't appreciate it, they'll complain and will want even more! Like sheesh

One HC who had Pettine on his staff: “They finally hired a real coach. Pettine is legit. Dallas will walk away with that division now.”

Those are some big words.

Now I'm really anxious to see how things turn out.

[JW82]

That one HC who said Dallas will run away with the division is underestimating how bad shoddy is.

[Blackrain]

I don't care how carefully they represent it Parker is up to his behind in alligators and needs some legitimate help.

This guy has been a head coach and a defensive coordinator and should take over the job as defensive coordinator and Parker should be the assistant and learn.

He is obviously not ready and forcing the situation or just make it worse

[NeverBeGameOver]

Seems to me like Pettine's pretty much the new DC. Being that it's midseason, keeping Parker around is to help smooth the transition.

That's kidna what I assumed when it happened... This is a temporary demotion for CP without really calling it that.

This is a positive move as something had to be done dont get me wrong, but the real question & issue now if the defense starts to rebound is should Pettine just be the DC?

I'm not sure I really see a positive outcome with this from CPs perspective.

Kudos to the organization for doing something to help turn around this defense. In the past no changes would have been made until March.

Right lol it would be the usual support and how highly they think of him talk lol

Who cares what CP thinks, or what anyone's "title" on the company letterhead is?

It was clear that decisive & immediate action was necessary. And, to the credit of the front office, they took it.

[SwagSurfer]

Coach in waiting.

This is what Jerry gets for letting a first time HC be in charge of hiring his DC, who is also a first-time DC. The fans will continue to suffer for as long as the Jones family runs this organization like their personal fantasy football team.

Parker aint happy.

Parker tried to get him to join his staff when he was hired but Pettine had just retired so passed on the offer.

I think this is the one experienced defensive coach that Parker would be most comfortable with coming in to join the staff.

We'll see how it works out as the season goes on.

The Big Mike Pettine era has officially started in Big D.

Let the course be righted.

This is bad for CP and no way around that.

Dallas admitting they do not have confidence in him as a DC
