Twitter: Werder: Cowboys are carefully representing hiring of Pettine as here to support Parker

Parker tried to get him to join his staff when he was hired but Pettine had just retired so passed on the offer.

I think this is the one experienced defensive coach that Parker would be most comfortable with coming in to join the staff.

We'll see how it works out as the season goes on.
I doubt CP or any of the D coaches are happy.

Or Shotty.

Not just the replacement for CP, but as I've said before, he could be auditioning for the HC job once BS gets canned. You all have been wondering who would Jerry hire, well there's your answer. And Jerry would love to save money paying one man for doing two jobs.
Adams might keep the OC job after Shotty is fired in January.

Can’t see MP keeping any of the D coaches.

Who knows how long Jerry and Stephen have been talking to MP.

The Bucs game likely sealed the deal.

That game was humiliating for Jerry.

Yeah I don’t know how Parker feels but I mean the unit has been so bad at least it’s someone he wanted initially.

The great thing is that Pettine doesn't care about titles. The funny part is that if the defense turn around, he gets all the credit.

This reminds me of when Jerry hired Garret as OC and needed Tony Soprano there to mentor him.

Idc what they call it

Pettine is here to say hey i see 5 defensive backs 20 yards off the ball on 3rd and 10

How about we bring them up a bit…maybe blitz as well

“The #Cowboys are carefully representing the hiring of Pettine as someone who is here to support Christian Parker and offer advice based on his experience. But NFL coaches I’ve spoken to who know Pettine and the dynamics of the situation with the Cowboys believe the more influence and responsibility Pettine has, the better for the team.

One HC who had Pettine on his staff: “They finally hired a real coach. Pettine is legit. Dallas will walk away with that division now.”

Thinking a retired journeyman coach is somehow the answer to the problem is classic Jerry.

He wasn’t a great HC in Cleveland, but he’s had great success as a DC and a D assistant. I don’t think he’s a replacement for anyone especially HC, but imo he far more qualified than BS to be a HC.

Mark I agree with you for sure. But lets not give the front office too much credit, they are the people that got us where we are today.
They took a swing at a young upcoming coach. All the NFL people said he was going to be a great DC. They swung and missed. It happens. Look at other teams. At least they didn’t wait too long to try and address the issue.

LOL so many here burned jerry for picking HC coordinators now he is being lambasted for not picking the coordinators which one is it?
Jerry has his hands in too many pots. Owner shouldn't be the GM and also shouldn't dictate the HC hires.
