Whose killing us?

What good is it to have a top 5 quarterback
Why do ya'll keep trying to push this narrative?

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Stafford are the top 5 QB's. And there are a number of others who have played as well as or better than Dak thus far this year.

If the NFL had an open draft of all existing QB's, Dak is gonna be waiting quite a while to hear his name.

Well, Stafford isn't ranked ahead of Dak right now as things currently stand. Its a long season things will likely change, but as of now, it is what it is.

And as far as this "number of others" who played as well, if not better than Dak this year, who are they? What are their names and if they played better than Dak, why aren't they ranked higher in quarterback production than he currently is?

I can definitely say Purdy has played better but, other than him and the guys you listed above, name the "number of others" and show me their current quarterback rankings.

I can't wait to see this list of "number of others" you're going to provide to back up your claim. I'm respectfully waiting.....

I respectfully submit ....

The 5 I listed are the top 5 regardless of any ranking at any specific time. I will disregard them and only focus on QB's who are in the "next" group of QB's.

Goff & Love have more yards and more TD's with less interceptions and better passer ratings. Stroud has less TD's (6) but has no interceptions. More yards & better rating.

Cousins, Young & Lawrence have less yards but more TD's with less or equal interceptions & better ratings.

And yes, Purdy has played much better. Leading the league in rating for those who have played all 5 games.

So, I've named 5 elite & 7 other QB's who have strong arguments to be ranked above Dak. That's more than a third of the league.

But my interest in top X is deeper than just numbers. It's who do you trust to give you a good chance in any situation? Who makes plays even when it isn't there? Who's not going to panic but be steady and lead his teammates because they trust him to get it done? Non of those questions are answered by Dak.
And that is why in a pickup game, he's not getting chosen amongst the top 5 or even top 10 by NFL GM's (other than Jerry of course, LOL)

GOTI….when you have such a prolific offense, your defense just has to dress out!!
When you have a defense like the Cowboys have, the offense has to be 100 percent perfect to even have a chance.

So when they are not perfect, like last Thursday, who gets the blame? GOTI.

Great post, but the only problem is, all of the people you've mentioned aren't currently ahead of Dak according to the rankings in that quarterback position.

You also forgot to list their personal rankings in that specific position. Once again, great informative post. Can you get those rankings to me whenever possible?

One last thing.... Dak is ranked where he is despite the Cowboys having the fewest amount of offensive possessions in the league.

Here are the guys not living up to their huge contracts. Regardless of whose coaching, you still have to win your battles and these guys just aren't. This matters bc the team decided to invest significant cap resources into them, and in the case of Q, draft capitol on top of it.

Deron Bland currently on a 92M contract which matches his 92nd ranking among CBs. Pure trash. He been the guy other teams pick on. He needs to get benched and figure out his footing issues. PFF score 45.3
Jake Ferguson our 50M dollar TE is currently the 75th ranked TE in the NFL with a PFF score of 49.0. One could make the case that Dallas would be 3-2 without him.
Quinnen Williams currently on a 105M contract and ranked 74th among interior defenders. PFF score 57.2. He's playing on par with former cowboy Maliek Collins of Cleveland who would have been a whole lot cheaper.
Wow. Already questionable PFF ratings based on a small sample.

Did you realize that the Cowboys have had the least amount of offensive possessions this season? What good is it to have a top 5 quarterback, great receivers and a decent running game if they don't have enough possessions to get going?

There's no offense in the NFL who's going to score tds every possession, so how does it help when the defense get tds scored on them damn near every possession and your offense is sitting on the sidelines most of the game?
The defense gave up

Well, I said, there are many options as far as reasons that we lose games. I hope you also realize that a quarterback, who folds his tent under pressure, is going to cause you as many losses. As any other factor.
Especially in important games.

The offense doesn't need to be perfect; they need to be balanced. 2-1 when we run the ball 20+ times a game and would be 3-0 if they didn't botch the Ravens game. Run the ball, move the chains, keep your sorry *** defense off the field!

I'm not sure what ranking you think is the definitive measure. QBR? QBERT? QB Index? PFF? DVOA? ....

You can post them. I'm aware some of them have him within the top 5.

My point is that there are 5 elite QB's currently in the NFL based on their body of work. Purdy is currently playing elite. So, immediately there is no viable argument that Dak is top 5. Then there is another group that includes Dak. Ranking that group is a week to week moving target but they all have similar or better raw production than Dak so there certainly isn't any indisputable basis to just consider him currently playing better than any of them.

Having fewer possessions may be helping his metrics though.

Can you answer my questions below?

Yeah, I fully get that the lack of D is an issue & puts more pressure on the O but these blanket statements about having to be perfect are erroneous. Stop making excuses and perform. If you perform and still lose fine but I'm sick of the built in excuse before the game even starts.

I mean we have given up 20, 24, 28, 30 & 34. Those aren't overcomeable. You could argue that only the 34 is even out of norm in the modern NFL. The Bills just overcame 34. In fact, in four of their games they have given up 29, 31 twice & 34 & won 3 of the four. Oddly enough, the only loss was the game they gave up 29.

If you say you are the GOTI, go out with the intention to prove it every week.

PFF is dumb. Quinnen is playing well.

Do one for Philly fans. It’d just be repeated pictures of the same monkey from the first one just ultimately renders to one drinking booze and throwing batteries
With a big exception that the Eagles have been playoff and Super Bowl (remember those?) relevant the past 30 seasons.

Its always Daks fault. Lead league in offense in 4th quarter 3rd down percentage on offense. Leagues worst 3rd down percentage on Defense. Daks fault

Drop not one but 2 passes that get tipped into hands of DBs Daks fault for hitting WR in hands.

Give up 120 yards a game rushing while only averaging 81.6 yards rushing. Daks fault.

Fumble on kick return. Daks Fault

Lead league in scoring while having lowest amount if offensive plays. No good Dak. Must do better must put up more numbers.

Good grief. We can have this argument when our Defense can resemble something that can stop even a division 2 school.
