Prescott and Romo bottomfeeders

In fairness while both can be criticized for different points in their games, the reality is it’s the teams records not theirs.

Give both qbs better defenses and each were more than capable of superbowls.

Again, not discounting their flaws but each were more than good enough
I couldn’t agree more. Neither QB should be blamed for Cowboys failure to ‘break through’. Every edition of teams they led had more egregious flaws in OTHER non-QB position areas that resulted in the team’s ultimate downfall. The arguably best teams for Romo and Prescott each fell to Green Bay in the divisional round (2014 and 2016 respectively). I hate the Packers.

Dak Prescott has a career regular-season record of 22-25 (.468) against teams that enter the game with a winning record.

Tony Romo had a regular-season record of 19-32 against teams with a winning record (above .500) and an 8-10 record against teams that finished at .500.

So for all of the guys touting how Romo was a much more capable QB, this stat shows the falsehood in that statement. They are pretty much the same QB. Both are known to put up good numbers yet crack in high pressure moments in big games against above average competition.

Just for the sake of comparison

Tom Brady 74–47
Highest number of wins against winning teams in NFL history.

Patrick Mahomes 22–12 (or ~64.7%)
One of the highest win percentages against winning competition in the modern era.

Lamar Jackson 14–4
Strong track record against winning teams, including standout single-season marks.
This needs to die.

At the end of the day, all you're doing is defending two different bags with the same turd in it. One bag is a little prettier than the other one but it's still the same turd...

That's it. That's what you are defending.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

This is exactly why Dak doesn't deserve $60 mil a season
I don't think even the most ardent Dak fan would argue that. That's all on Jerry. I don't blame Dak for striking while the iron is hot, but this number will never allow him to appease a fanbase, unless he wins a SB. Even then, his haters will keep attacking him. That's the nature of the game.

I agree the contract is too high, but it’s probably only about 5 mil AAV - if it was in the 55mm range he would be paid very comparably to his peer set.

We’re talking about less than a 10% overpayment and the reality is it’s probably more like a 5% overpayment- call it the Jerry stupidity premium.
That’s the thing. People talk about his contract and I agree based on skill he shouldn’t be the highest paid as probably 5-8 range Qb….Cowboys waited so late to pay him that guys like Tua, Trevor and Murray became 53-55 million Aav guys.

If Dak won a SB they would complain what too so long or why just one lol. Those type of sorry fans have a agenda.

Agreed and that was my point, if hes at thr 55mm range I dont think were having the same discussion- again the jerry stupidity premium

I agree with you though I’m not sure some of these fans are aware at the time he only got 5 million more than a guy like Tua. They hear “highest paid” and freak out. Also due to how they’ve structured his deal he’s never really had cap crippling cap hits. They’ve just done some very weird roster building tactics that have failed and rightfully so.

Not defending either player but that type of stat is very misleading as there are two flaws with it.

1) you need to not count the Cowboys games so that means NFC East opponents could potentially have 2 losses and other teams 1 loss they wouldn't have had that season if they had not played the Cowboys

2) to form a real comparison between quarterbacks, you need to track the record at the time the respective teams of those quarterbacks played their opponents, not their season record.

There are many examples where teams had winning records when the Cowboys played them yet they ended up losing their quarterback and losing several games after the Cowboys game.
Who cares about the stats romo was jsut a more fun player to watch. He played like an udfa who didn’t waste one snap.

Dak Prescott runs the clock out to avoid the late game pass scenario . It just sucks watching this team they’re so limited the guy can’t even scramble around it’s so boring and clunky

They can win this year but they’d have to switch to like high octane offense and attacking turnover based defense

Totally agree and the average fan just looks at the number not necessarily the math and flexibility behind it.

And to your point this team does so much wierd crap ...they now have another bottleneck with talent on the roster that they have traded picks for that need big deals....very curious how it plays out

I am too because Cowboys don’t give up talent. I know people mention Micah but that was probably the first time we saw them not bring a guy back who was in his prime. I really want to see how they handle Pickens and Porter. It’s almost like they don’t even know.

If they need to free up money I can help Steele, Ferg and Bland pack. Gary and Clark too.

......and yet contrasting when Tony smiled in Jerry's office after his big contract. The bottom line is we've had a QB that was good enough to lead into the playoffs much further than we've seen.........Jimmy karma, Cabo getaway during playoffs (similar, but unlike Beckham fall-out w/ Giants), coaching blunders, defense instability, errors, routine draft busts, poor coaching selections, bad franchise culture, poor general manager, poor scouting, poor player execution, poor player development, and frustrated fan base. Etc., etc., etc. I don't know what else to tell you. Blaming the QB or his pay simply blinds the complete dysfunction and routine train wreak activity displayed by this team

Romo played with some BAD defenses, so you can't really separate him from the other 21 players and Jason Carrot. When our defense was good, he had a couple good seasons, and DEZ caught it against GB and Roger's.

Dak is a bum slayer for sure, but he's had some BAD defenses the last few seasons, and constantly leaves touchdowns/big plays when he gets into deer in headlights mode.

Lamar Jackson is 3-5 in the playoffs, with 10 TDs and 7 Ints.

Interesting choice.

Ok but football is a team sport. If one or two people are not doing their jobs then you are screwed.
