Cowboys still haven't recovered from Parsons trade yet

It was for GB. I can't believe they agreed to it!
I was actually shocked that GB gave us 2 firsts for a one dimensional player. Parsons is Robert Quinn. Great pass rusher, poor run stopper. Did y'all see the way GB continuously ran right by him in that playoff debacle????

And Micah’s body isn’t meant to take that punishment for a full season. He should have stayed at LB.

Since the D needed to be completely revamped, it's simply too early to make this assertion. You keep leaving out the fact that our D sucked w/ Parsons(28th), and it takes more than a season to rebuild an area of the team. Unfortunately Jerry is going for a quick fix. That means it might be good in 27, but it won't last long when you're trading for/signing players who are already in their late 20s.

To put it plainly, there wasn't anything to recover from.
I’d argue at 28th didn’t suk as bad. We at least had a pass rush which helped mask weakness in secondary .

And with a pass rush and not bottom of the league and or historical bad defense with Dak and our offense would have been more of a playoff contender .

Until we can return to playoffs we haven’t recovered. And I’m not just talking defensively.

1st 3 years were a playoff team with Parsons and 4th year Dak was out. Everyone expected us to be a playoff team last year with Parsons. However marginal that was.

So until our defense had that limited ability , enough to aid us returning to playoffs, then I’ll argue we haven’t recovered. At least not yet. I think that’s fair.

I’m not ruling out we might recover at some point in seasons to come. If of course Jethro makes better decisions. Who knows if this season collapses we might be starting all over again next year. Time will tell. So far I’d argue we have failed to rebound, recover , however you want to describe it.

This isn’t about discussing whether it was a good trade or not. I think we have exhausted that discussion.

No doubt we received much in compensation . But what we have received thus far hasn’t enabled this defense and team to fully recover.

If anything this defense has continued to decline and it’s much worse in last two years than previously with Parsons.

So, do we have to wait another year and draft to begin to recover and rebuild this defense. Do we have the right coaching in place. Was our trade for Q the right use of resources???

Right now I’d argue we have more questions than answers and we haven’t recovered from Parsons trade yet.
If any other team would have made the same trade for Parsons, you can bet the house those teams would be way better off today than they were before the trade. But not the Cowboys, it's turned into a crap show! Players obtained in the trade or the draft capital obtained in the trade, that was used to obtain better players have all been decent at best!!!!!!!!!!!!! That brings us to the coaches that have been hired to coach our players. This organization is horrible, when it comes to hiring coaches to coach this team. Right now, this team is a boat on a raging river with no rudder to control it. From the HC all the way down to Asst Coaches have been a cluster F#$$^^! The HC is so over his head and the great DC brought in to turn the defense around has been so bad that JJ (I mean PLAYER) had to hire a nanny as an overseer of the DC because the DC is just that BAD!

Yep. No question receiving 2 1st round picks and a starter should have provided us enough asset to overcome.

But so far it hasn’t been utilized effectively or wisely already trading a 1st rounder and a couple 2nd round picks which hasn’t uplifted defense yet.

It’s like almost every move or trade we make continue digging a deeper hole. Just horrible mgmt and beginning to look like awful coaching staff too.

It all adds up to a complete failure unfortunately wasting Prescott in his prime playing well with a very capable offense.

Micah is elite.

Terrible trade.
