What good would it do to fire Schotty tomorrow?

I think it could provide a needed jolt and wake up call.

Promote Adams or Pettine to HC, sound the alarm, and try and rally the team.

What good does it do to keep Schotty at HC when it is clear he can’t do the job? He is not the answer, but at least we would get a feel for who Adams is in live game situations, or whether an old hand like Pettine could simply provide better preparation, focus, and results than what Schotty is producing at this point.

Staying with Schotty at this point is simply delaying the inevitable. He was the wrong hire the moment they made the announcement, and he has only confirmed that reality to this point.

Don’t chase a mistake with another mistake. When you are in a crap storm, make the next right decision.

Firing Schotty would at least give the team a shot to reset. Keeping him only maintains the status quo, and this team can’t compete with him as HC.

The offensive players are way too comfortable in all the wrong ways. They don’t need a friend, they need a leader of men that demands their best effort
