He remembers the throwing contest with Carr that he lost; he thought he could throw it off the goalpost into his guy's arms, but he missed the post too. shrugs. No player in the league is catching a ball thrown that high out of bounds whether they get there or not. He panicked and launched an uncatchable ball out of bounds
One throw he used to make that I havent seen in years is from his rookie year (maybe his second year) against Arizona. He rolled out and threw a frozen rope down the sideline on the run, it was beautiful.highly underdiscussed comment.
mobility was the only thing that made him viable in the 2010s. he never had a Rogers or stafford arm, its ok, but he did have better games earlier in the career. he is a shell of himself and processing time has gotten longer vs shorter
He threw it high down the seam to where the play is designed to go. Because the pressure got there so quick and the route took so long to develop, the receiver couldn't get there. No player in the league is catching a ball thrown that high out of bounds whether they get there or not. Lol this is total nonsense.Dak's failure to read the unblocked blitzer and and anything about it is a direct reflection on him.
He should have moved to create an extra second to make a good throw instead of air mailing it off his back leg like he did all night. He showed very little mobility all night.
All 4 vertical receivers (excluding the RB checkdown) had their back to him when the blitz got home lolIt seemed like a bad play design to as well.
And if they intercept it, it's better field position for our defense to defend. The only possible negative is a pick 6, but even that is no worse, since we lose either way. It's about understanding the situation. It's 4th down...worst case scenario if you at least throw it in bounds towards a white jersey is throwing a pick, best case is a miracle TD, but at least you give yourself some semblance of a chance. 1% chance of success is better than 100% chance of failure.
I’m rolling!Have to at least give your guys a chance. Romo would have thrown a jump ball to Dez. This current QB tried throwing for a Field Goal and still missed.
Or you get a bogus PI. The refs were in that mode last night. It's about understanding the situation. Horrible call for the situation for sure. Only 5 blockers and the down/distance makes no real hot route options either. It seemed like a bad play design to as well.
Even throwing it at the back of a defender's head, hoping it might bounce up to where one of our guys could catch it would have been better than giving away any chance of winning, by throwing it out of the end zone.It was either get rid of the ball or take a sack. The offensive play call sucked, guyton failed to even slow down the rusher, and Dak failed to even give a receiver a chance.
Question {I coach youth football, age 12-14), we teach our O linemen to get/block the inside guy first b/c he has the shortest path to the QB. if you all teach or learned differently, please let me know. I counted at least 3-4 times a blitzer went b/w Booker and Steele and if i am correct Booker had a guy to his front/inside that he would block. How many times did this have to have happened before someone took care of it?Uh, it's an unblocked blitzer. There's nothing the QB can do there.
He seemed to me to be his best when rolling out to the right. The throws just happened. He didn't overthink them. Read and react. One throw he used to make that I havent seen in years is from his rookie year (maybe his second year) against Arizona. He rolled out and threw a frozen rope down the sideline on the run, it was beautiful.
It's the last play of the game. Throwing the ball away when there is no play to be had after that is kind of a dumb thing right? So you can roast him for a interception?
nonsense. it was a spazz throw away. no defense for it. just a poor play from someone past his prime. He threw it high down the seam to where the play is designed to go. Because the pressure got there so quick and the route took so long to develop, the receiver couldn't get there.
The throw is to a spot that's determined pre-snap. It's a bad play call in empty.
Exactly. It should be obvious.throw it in the field of play
LolHe can read the defense pre-snap and make appropriate calls to change the play or at least the alignment. Stop looking for an out for a dumb QB!
