And rightfully so. As for the media lynch mob? FAIL! As for the NCAA's hypocrisy? EXPOSED!

He should play. A&M has more to lose by not playing him until the slow moving NCAA eventually makes a decision. Worse case is they have to forfeit games later on if a ruling goes against them. That isn't a horrible thing. They had rather face Alabama with him and later forfiet(if needed) than go against the Crimson Tide without him.

Whether he plays or not is no bearing on the NCAA or the Media when talking about if he is guilty or not.

We have seen this boat in the past. Reggie Bush comes to mind.

Just because he is playing now does not mean he is not guilty or will not be found guilty of breaking the rules later on.

I wasn't talking about whether he was guilty or not. Of course he took money for autographs. My point is what is he really guilty of? He made Texas A&M, the NCAA and the media a boat load of money. Meanwhile the media stalks his every move trying to find some trash to write about for the minions who care. I say you go Johnny Football and tell the rest of em to stick it where the sun don't shine as you take your money to the bank and beat Alabama. Go UT!

To me, this means one of two things.

1) They have no proof that he actually got paid for anything he did, and the half game is for who he associates with or something like that.

2) They are going to find a way to wait to actually find him guilty so that they can make a crap ton of money off of the TV ratings and memorabilia sales he generates over the next year, and then punish A&M after he is already gone.

Suspended for 1/2 game? That's pointless. Either suspend longer or not at all.

Guilty of breaking the rules even if you think the rules are stupid?

Yes, especially when breaking those rules pads the pockets of the organization who's rules were broken. Hypocrisy at it's finest. And the NCAA knows this and that's why you'll see Manziel running around this Saturday.

Don't what is worse. The hypocrisy of making money off of athletes but penalizing them for doing the same or just suspending for half a game.

To me suspending him for half a game is basically making them SILLY.

You seem to be under some misunderstanding that I think rule is good,I don't.

However until the rules are changed they should enforce the rules as there is no question the athletes and schools know the rules.

With that said I bow out because that is about the limit I can talk about the situation in a given period without the desire to slap myself for wasting my time

The NCAA's hypocrisy was exposed long, long ago.

I'm in the "glad he's playing but we all know he broke the rules" crowd. But what I don't understand is this: If, as far as the NCAA is concerned, Manziel didn't sign autographs for money, then what precisely is the suspension for??!? Because he didn't stop others from using his name for commercial purposes? Has anyone in the history of the NCAA even been punished for this?

They should just make it official and turn over NCAA discipline to the heads of CBS and ESPN.

That seems to be the reason he was suspended. I don't know if anyone else has ever faced a punishment for doing anything similar although I think a name was brought up in another thread about this.

I think the case is closed.

POST SCRIPT: The only "media lynch mob" that exists is the one that exists only in your mind. The media has been very forgiving of him. Most of the opinions have echoed those of us that think the NCAA is hypocritical and that he should be allowed to play.

Very good question. This half game suspension is laughable.

I'll have to disagree with this. The national media has been all over Manziel since he's become famous. The local media has been somewhat forgiving of him.

All I have seen is the national media blowing sunshine up his behind from day 1. I can't think of 1 single national pundit calling for him to be suspended even though everyone in the country knows he signed for $$. Whenever the subject gets mentioned in a national outlet, the NCAA gets more criticism than Manziel.
