Honest Question: If we played the Chiefs and Chargers again

If we played the Chiefs and Chargers again, how many of you would automatically assume we would lose the rematch to both teams? Not me. I would think we would have a decent chance of beating both teams on the road. If those games were at home, would you favor us? I would. Moreover ..... if we played each team 10 times I would expect the teams to split the games no more than 70/30 either way.

From brief memory, we always play a team the second time around even worse. It's a mark of the Garrett team.

The passing offense and passing defense is terrible. Probably 75-25 split in favor of losing.

Honestly I don't know something I tend not to dwell on. Dallas played them, both games on the road and they failed. They had a chance but did not make the plays when they had to. Playing the what if game is just a waste of time.

i think we beat the Chiefs. I thought we had control of that game for the most part. The two late turnovers were the difference.

I think we lose to the Chargers 7 times out of 10. Unless Kiffin shows some type of effective adjustment to rivers' mastery at the line of scrimmage, it's difficult to see the game playing out in our favor. We would be forced to outgun them offensively, which i dont think bodes well for this team.

We'll have to wait and see about KC since they've played bad/avg teams thus far, but SDC is for sure a mediocre team just like we are.

So sure, we MIGHT win if we played them again, but that doesn't make us any better than mediocre ourselves, which is what most people are complaining about. Another 8-8 season. Not quite sure I see your point.

I would say they lose about 8 of 10 against the Chargers and win about 6 of 10 against the Chiefs based on the state of the team at this moment in time; however, if they don't have any more significant injuries, I think the Cowboys will improve as the season goes forward.

Improvements should come from:

Young players:
Frederick
Leary
Wilcox
T. Williams
Escobar
Hanna
Bruce Carter (he's still a young player)
Wilber (maybe)

New players:
Nevis
Rayford
Carter (DL)
Edgar Jones (maybe)
Waters

More time in the defensive scheme:
Everybody on defense.

Callahan:
Play callers need some time to adjust to specific players strengths/weaknesses.

Possible bonus:
Ratliff (the old version of Ratliff would dominate in this scheme).

Other injury issues:
Austin would have helped against SD.
Claiborne might get healthier, but it's doubtful.

This is about how I feel, too. Though I'm unclear if that Charger pass defense is capable of playing at that level for more than a week or two at a time. The same goes for their OL. But, as for the team we saw Sunday, they would be tough for us to beat on a better day.

What Rivers did has been done forever, we were caught unprepared, for whatever reason, same on offense totally unprepared for what San Diego did, we did not have a clue. Completely outcoached or as usual been eating the cheese as many on this board thought might happen.I had hoped this team would be hungrier, but it seems only the fans seem hungry
