This is Tony Romo's stat line in the three games the Cowboys lost.

1050 yds, 71.3 cp %, 9.1 ypa, 8 tds, 1 int, 119.1 qb rating

A 119.1 QB rating and 0 and 3 is not normal. I would bet something like that hasn't happened before. How can a QB have such little help.

Yeah, pretty crappy luck. Romo deserves a chance at a Super Bowl. Maybe we don't deserve him. You never see a guy of his caliber who has only really had one team (the 13-3 season) capable of competing. Brady, Manning and Rodgers at least have a chance every season. Brees has been in the playoffs most his seasons with the Saints. Romo deserves better. Too bad he spent his career here. Hopefully we make it up to him.

It's refreshing to see fans who get it.

Yeah but how has he done in significant spotlight games?

When was this teams last spotlight game? I might argue it was LAST WEEK, but if you mean, say, playoffs, this team does not give opportunities very often to play in such spectacles. Thanks Jerreh!

That said, he can't both throw it to Crayton AND catch it for him...

Romo is more than enough QB to win with.

It's the classic case of a great QB on a garbage team. I really hope someday that the likes of Romo and Dez see a superbowl because they deserve it.

True.
I think you need a really good team multiple times to have a realistic shot. Like Baltimore last year, if you keep getting chances, eventually it will all come together one year to go all the way.
This salary cap era is so different that the early 90s

If I'm not mistaken Romo holds the NFL record for the highest QB rating in a loss (141.3) from week 14 of 2011 against the Giants. I'm not finding the source for that right now, but if he doesn't then he is darn close in that regard and he very nearly matched that in last week's loss.

EDIT: Source below, it's entirely possible that the stat in question is now 71-2 with Romo accounting for BOTH losses.

"According to Pro-Football-Reference.com, there had been 71 previous quarterback performances since 1960 that featured at least 300 passing yards, four touchdowns and a passer rating of 140.0. Those quarterbacks played on the winning team on all 71 occasions.

Romo became the lone exception. Quarterbacks who put up those eye-popping stats are now 71-1."

That's a hater who's ignorant question. The real question should be how has the TEAM done in signifcant spotlight games. Also, for the Cowboys, all games are significant spotlight games.

Romo pretty much has to play perfect every week while being a play maker. He has a suspect running game and defense. It seems the team is always needing 1 more play or 1 more drive to close the deal.

We average about 20 Romo stat threads a day. He's great, we know.

Now lets beat Washington!

He had a chance to prove them wrong last year against Washington, but threw a pick on a dumpoff pass. He had a horrible game and still had the ball with a chance to win in the 4th and blew it.

The game against Denver, I don't believe we would have converted very easily even if he did complete it to Escobar. It would have been 3rd and medium - long. We would have punted and the defense would have given the game away.

That seems to be the case far too often.

The thing I really hate about that is something will cause an errant pass (like last week) that is out of Romo's control and that starts the choker comments.

The basic statement about that to me is "idiots will be idiots". Many people are so blinded by their agenda that anything that they can use to feed their agenda they lock onto and ignore all the other data. You hear no one pointing to Dez and saying if he just hadn't been transferring that ball when he got hit. About half the people around here seem to want to say what happened in the first 57 minutes don't matter, of course they don't because it doesn't fit their agenda that Romo is the problem.

The running game was alright last week, but not something you could hang your hat on. The defense was absolute garbage, outside of the two turn overs. Seriously zero punts in a game with 12 offensive drives for the opponent. I know that Manning and the Broncos have a great offense but that is just stupid. Over all you can put some blame on Romo because he threw a pick. But if you were assigning blame to every one on the team and the coaching staff Romo is probably in the 30-40 range with only people who didn't play much or were just on ST below him in blame.

KJJ please come to the principal's office.

It's been explained many times. Romo is a choker. In fact, he has reached an unprecedented level of chokitude. Romo is such a choker that even when he plays very well he causes those around him to choke.

Now THAT is a choker.
