normally i hate it when you see 9 year old daughters on facebook covering an all too covered song.

this one, i dug.

They real made that song average... Maybe less than average. The singer who covers that song has to have some chops. He doesn't.

i thought "yesterday" by the beatles was the most covered song of all time.

oh i don't insist on adele covers, there was just the hispanic version of rolling in the deep, then i saw a barrage of facebook phone cams showing their 10 year old daughter doing it also.

otherwise i think is a promising young band and the kind i promote on my radio station.

but i do like the sound of this band.

Interesting take all the way around. It honestly put a vision in my head that Marilyn Manson could produce an incredible interpretation of that jam if he put his mind to it.

I initially leaned towards Redvolution's opinion about the singer being able to blast out the lyrics on a similar level as Adele, but after thinking on it, I know of very, very few musicians in the industry period that could match her vocals. She is one of a kind in my opinion.

I do enjoy the different interpretations when they have something to offer and this one certainly did, so thanks for posting Ice.

By the way, has anyone heard Halestorm's version of Hungerstrike? I don't know why, but it just makes my blood boil. I guess the tracks on that Temple of the Dog album are more sacred to me than I ever realized! :)

Thought it was ok and I'm stuck in the 50s-70s for the most part. So it must be fairly good if I even remotely like the new songs.

50's? Did they have instruments then?

lol. Guess you never heard of something Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Ritchie Valens, Scottie Moore (Elvis), to name a few, played with. Yes, they had electric guitars in the 1950's.

Uh - yea - I am well aware of the music of the 50's - lol.

Yeah a lot of them were wiped off the map by the Beatles or by unfortunate accident, their historic influence is stunning.

Amazing... if you think about it, many (not Sarge:)) still listen to the songs of the 50's. If you give a R&R starting date of say 1953 (many credit The Crows "Gee" as the first true R&R hit) then we're enjoying songs from almost 60 years ago.

Now were people in the 1980's or 90's listening to songs from the 20's or 30's? Umm no.

That in itself speaks volumes about how powerful the start of the R&R era was, and how gifted many of the artists were.

Chuck Berry riffs are heard even in the music of today. Beach Boys, then the Stones, Bob Seger, Springsteen, Guns and Roses the list goes on. Listen to Alt Nation on Sirius and you'll hear a Chuck Berry riff within a half hour. Chuck is the real Boss.

Music is thievery. Everyone steals or should I say is influenced by earlier musicians.

Hallelujah and If I Needed You are two songs I have heard covered the most.

I liked this version too until the screaming at the end. I really enjoyed the instrumentation. That is one of my pet peeves about heavy metal. The music can be so intense and then the lead singer ruins it by screaming into microphone. IMO.
