The fact that the Cowboys even had a chance near the ends of the Broncos and Lions games is staggering.

Near the end of the game, the Cowboys had already yielded 500+ yards of offense to the Lions..........and were still leading by six points.

You can't POSSIBLY expect the offense to bail out the defense like this. Over the course of several possessions, perhaps the offense can score enough points to compensate for the defense's flaws. But when you have numerous possessions by the opposing team going for monster yardage, well, you're going to lose sooner or later.

If "defense wins championships," as many like to say, well.............the Cowboys are a long, long, long way away from a championship.

Understandable... But offense = 3-out punt punt punt punt punt. How can the defense get any rest or try to stop an offense who always has the ball.

I agree. The defense has basically given up 400+ yards to every decent team they've played.

The best defense is a good offense. Just look at the Saints and Rob Ryan. Now Rob is not the problem. Well, that's because he's not made to look to be a problem because he has Sean Payton and the high octane offense on the other side.

Don't forget about the Giants game - that was a gem of a defensive effort as well.

Lets face it the offense and defense both arent nearly good enough to get it done consistently.

And to add insult to injury we are 35 million over the cap next season and have the worst head coach in the league. Not a good time to be a cowboys fan.

The defense wouldn't have to be perfect at the end of games if the Offense would get off their butts and do something in the first half.

Hard not to be upset at a D that gives up those kinda numbers.

If they didn't get 4 turnovers, this would've been a blowout cause its not like they stopped them consistently.

Needless to say, this D needs alot of work but I will say, they did lose as a team today. Every facet of the game needs to be improved.

and yet despite all of those yard we were giving up, we were LEADING despite our offense not capitalizing on those turnovers. Funny how the D gets the blame after playing 3 quarters of excellent football and the offense only playing 1. The stat was 1 and 54 when a team has a -4 turnover differential. I think the defense did more than enough to win.

funny how a D that gave up over 600 yards and 329 to ONE WR is not blamed by some here for losing the game

and anyone that thinks that D did enough to win ANY GAME failed football 101

Funny how there was a stat that when there is a -4 turnover differential, teams went 1 and 54.
You know what's football 101? When you get turnovers, you SCORE. Romo had what, 88 yards going into the 3rd quarter? the D held them to SEVEN points until the 3rd... 4 turnovers. The offense doesn't capitalize... the offense doesn't run the clock out by getting crucial first downs and the defense is back on the field for another game deciding drive.

600+ yards of offense in a game is not three quarters of excellent football.

600+ yards of offense in a game is not three quarters of excellent football.

So we're going to conveniently ignore that we held them to SEVEN points throughout the third quarter? Maybe if our offense managed to put up 24 points in the 3rd, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The defense did more than enough to win. The defense got the Lions off of the field and gave our offense back on the field. Instead of getting first downs and running out the clock, we 3 and out and incur a penalty on 3rd down that stops the clock.

should make for an excellent game when the Saints play vs. this Cowboys D

only someone who failed football 101 would not blame a D that gave up 600+ yards and 31 points= all of it earned

You got a link to prove that? If not, don't spout crap like that.
