Who is gone from this roster after this season?

Whether it makes good football sense or not....Romo, Ware and Witten will be allowed to decide when they leave. The team will let them stay until they fall off a cliff. At that point they can either retire...or catch on with a team with a chance to win it all. Think Gonzalez going to Atlanta. I don't have the contract status of every player in front of me. But keep in mind you HAVE to field a competetive team. So in cases where cutting a guy does not help/hurt the salary cap...it is likely the player will remain. If we cut Miles...you will see a limited passing attack like you see right now. As talented as Dez is...I heard (and I believe)...they don't move him around because he does not know the other positions. Williams is still very young and appears to be limited on what they can do with him as well. All of the RBs can go as far as I am concerened. ALL of the DL we have right now are rotational guys except Ware and Hatcher. Hatcher will not be here next year. I actually want Waters back if he wants to play. But we need to add 2 more starting quality OL. The backup QB can go. All of the DBs except Wilcox, Carr, Claiborne, Church, and Webb can go. All of the LBers except Carter, Lee and Holloman can go.

At this stage they have nothing to lose IMO. Dump or trade all the declining players with huge contracts, get what you can for them in future picks. Maybe even picks two to three years away but higher rounds. Reason being is that dumping or trading these players will accelerate their salary cap figures and make the team pretty much uncompetitive, (not that they are now) but it will allow them to retool with high draft picks and a much more friendly salary cap. As I said what do they have to lose, this team isn't going anywhere fast and will just end up wasting all the current young talent while drafting more second round tight ends.

That is too much dead money left on the table. Witten, Ware and Miles will be here in 2014. The salary cap won't allow them to fill in more holes next season, quality wise. This is what bad contracts bring.................

Wrong. Cutting Austin and Ware would result in more money under the cap. The dead-money is more than offset by not having their base salaries. Even with a restructure, Ware would cost more under the cap to keep than to cut.

Not only should you not trade Dez but you should resign him as quickly as possible. He is one of the best young players in the league and easily the best young offensive player on our team. Finding an elite receiver in this league is not easy and regardless of how frustrating he can be at times he needs to be signed long term.

Dez will not turn into a bad player when he gets paid.. Dez has a passion for the game and pride that will not allow him to take it easy at all. I'm sure hell take part in some questionable purchases lol but I would be very surprised if a big contract changed the way he approaches the game.

Trade a Dez? Whoever says that is just saying it for shock value. Why don't we also move the team to LA? Because that's just as likely. Romo to Bryant is going to be the connection for the next four or five years. They aren't the problem. Also supremely doubt Ware leaves. And even more doubt Witten takes off. The reason this team is at where it's at is because of poor drafting resulting in someone name Jeff Heath starting at safety. That example applies to two or three other positions as well. To recap: this isn't Madden and you can't trade and cut all of your bright spots and hope to come out on top.

1. Ratliff is aready gone.
2. Spencer's contract is up. I wouldn't bring him back unless it was for a very friendly deal. Very friendly, and only after he is medically cleared by competent medical specialists. Not the magic 8 ball kind.
3. We should say bye to Miles Austin. I don't care if he sets the world on fire somewhere else. He hasn't been healthy in several years, and its not injuries due to physical contact.
4. I would really like to see Ware stay and become the force he was before. But he has a huge salary and I'm not sure he isn't done. I hope not, but I could definitely see us parting ways with him.
5. I know that this might be considered equivalent to blasphemy by some but I would trade Dez. Yes, I know he is an elite talent ...... but I am not sure that we should give him huge money on a second contract. I think he will totally fall off into the primordial soup once he gets paid. I am also OK with keeping him around another year and letting him go in free agency. But I think we would get more out of trading him.

If they get rid of Dez, do you really have confidence this regime will trade that with excellent draft picks? No way. Jimmy's not here to help with that.

I think the least productive player from the last draft is probably Randle. This was a great draft, and I liked the Randle pick at the time, but he is not nearly as good as I expected him to be. I think he is potentially out the door next year too.

At this rate the entire roster will be made up of rookies and free agents off the street and we’ll still be barely under the cap due to all the dead money!

I am not saying we should, but that is how Jerry operates. Because Jerry is not very good in the talent acquisition business.....when he does hit on a player.....he holds on for dear life....basically he has no confidence he can find a replacement. All you have to do is look how much years/money we owe to aging declining players. Think about it.....this team was counting on Jay Ratliff.....this is a guy that did not even want to be in Dallas. Yet they signed him up long term like he was a building block. And we had not even switched to a 4-3 when we re-signed him. The best organizations....teams that have won Super Bowls...move on players 1 year too soon.....as opposed to a couple of years to late. I could understand us hanging on to Emmit, Troy etc....because they won. But handing on to Austin, Ware, Ratliff, Hatcher, Romo.....who keeps a core together that has never won ANYTHING!!!! I mean Osi Umenyora....gone......James Harrison....gone.....Greg Jennings.....gone....Deion Branch.....gone......Willie McGinest....gone....Plaxico Burress...gone....Bary Cofield......gone. I could go on and on....these are key players from recent Super Bowl winning teams....Pats, Packers, Giants, Steelers....and their teams moved on without them in spite of there role on a WINNER!
