They probably will part ways with Gronk. Brady is the only untouchable in Boston.
You my friend get it. We are the ONLY organization that keeps a core together this long that has not won ANYTHING. Forget the fact they have not won a Super Bowl...we have never even made a run. Yet Romo, Ware, Witten, Austin, Hatcher, and Ratliff if he had wanted to stay...are/were signed up to big money. I told you all many times why this is. When your GM really does not know what he is doing....when he FINALLY finds decent players...he holds onto them for dear life because he has ZERO confidence he can replace them. You look at New England, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, the Giants. These teams have actually won and are generally in the hunt. Yet they have moved on from major contributors to SUPER BOWL teams. We hold onto guys that pad stats September thru November. It is comical.
Go look at the teams I mentioned Super Bowl rosters. Major....major elements....core players....were let go/not re-signed with plenty of football left in them. I could make a list a mile long from Richard Seymour, to Deion Branch, to Umenyora, to Burress, Mario Manningham, to Brandon Jacobs, to Barry Cofield, to Anquan Boldin, to James Harrison, to Antuan Randle El...I mean I am sure I am missing lots of names.
And the funny thing is....we USED to do this when Jimmy was here. I mean how many WRs did we have play opposite Irvin when were winning. Kelvin Martin, Harper, Kevin Williams. When one left...someone else stepped up. We had mulitple safeties during our run from Thomas Everette, to James Washington to Brock Marion to Darren Woodson. We were a complete team with depth and we did not hang on to EVERYBODY. Our core that was WINNING was maintained as best we could. But the post-Jimmy Johnson Cowboys? We have tried to manufacture stars. And REAL Cowboy fans can see right through the gutless core of this team. And this is bigger than last night. This is about the track record of the "core" of this team. And I ain't talking TDs, Sacks, tackles or catches. I am talking Wins and Losses.
