I just heard a "longtime" Cowboys fan call in to WFAN and I totally disagree with his point of view.
I am paraphrasing here, but here was his basic theme:

I want the Cowboys to come out Sunday night and be aggressive. I want Orton to be throwing the ball down the field especially on first down.

Not my idea of how to win a game against a high-powered offense while you are playing a back-up QB. I want to chew the clock as much as possible. Lots of Demarco Murray bothing running and catching some little swing passes. Some short stuff to Witten. Dez on some quick slants and try to get it to Dez a couple of times deep. We need to see a lot of 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 3.

Murray can be rippping 10 yard runs all through the first quarter and Garrett and Callahan will go away from the run in the second and go empty sets and shotgun, and abandone the run. That's their philosophy!

It's the Cowboy way!

I would like to see some playaction on first down, but other than that lets pound the rock and do so easy plays like slants and curl routes. Back to basics.

Taking the occasional big shot down field off play action is not a bad idea but by and large ball control offense will be essential for the Cowboys and Orton. But hey all in favor of coming out early and testing Philly on a 1st down bomb after all if us fans can figure out ball control offense benifets Orton then so does Philly, catch a DB peaking in the back field you just may get a shot to burn them deep

With Romo, teams have to defend the pass. Part of the reason Murray runs well is because of the Romo presence.

Well, we know Orton's arm is not tired and that his body is not beat up. That's a plus.
I agree on the play-action. They have to respect it the way Murray has been running, and Orton can deliver it if given the time.
I'm more concerned about them giving up 30-35 points.

That is my concern as well. Defense is really going to have to play their tails off and create turnovers in this game. Hatcher and Selvie have had some big games both will need to have A games and Ware will need to make an impact on this game. Carr has been shaky as of late he needs to get it going to way we know he is capable of. Claiborne coming back this week should be a big help instead of relying on guys like Webb. Not expecting miracles from the defense just better play than what they have done lately. If there is one area the defense has done well at that is getting turnovers well we need that this weekend
