Talkin cowboys 1/16

On what planet is Richard Seymour comparable to Demarcus Ware? I agree, his salary is far too high but if he doesnt take a cut Dallas will just have to eat it. Ware will have a better year next year and we need his production because there are no better options.

How can you say there are no better options when you can argue that George Selvie had a better season coming off the street than a guy that's due to make 12 million.

Sure, but at 284 lbs ??? How could he hold up as a 1 tech - he would get run over all day, no matter how quick he would be...

What makes you think he cant gain weight? Like he did when Dallas was in a 3-4

How? Selvie had a better year than Clay Matthews and Jsason Pierre Paul and many other great players. Does that make him better than them? Should they all be cut?
How do you do it? How do you sit there and think that Selvie is better than Ware?

Welcome to the Twilight Zone where Selvie is better than a potential HoFer and Orton is better than Romo. Where one game makes a player and one season a career.

We should fire Rod Marinelli. Clearly he can't coach if he doesn't think Ware is a complete bum and has been his entire career.

Regardless of whether Ware has anything left I'm not seeing anywhere where anybody is saying Ware has been a complete bum his entire career.

Oh right, it's just some needlessly dramatic complaint about our fan base. Or something equally ridiculous.

The same way you sit here and think that after 17 years of futility - the 18th year will be different.

How do you do that?

Uh...if you don't think next year will be different than why follow the team? Think about your answer and you'll answer your own question.

Just bc I don't think the team is going to be any different doesn't mean I won't follow.

I saw Doug Free bounce back when I was convinced he was done, no way am I writing off Demarcus Ware

Free only had the chance to come back after he took a substantial pay cut. Hopefully, it is the same with Ware. If Ware isn't willing to take a paycut, then hit the road jack and don't you come back.

The same people that want to hold on to big named over priced vets will be the same ones complaining that our backups suck when the vets are injured and eating up most of the salary cap space next season.

Would you rather have Ware at 12 million or two guys like Michael Bennett and Michael Johnson for about the same price combined?

Again. 19.5 3 seasons ago. Try again.

In the end, he will absolutely be here next year and we will all see.

Yes but I said 2 to 3 years, and the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. If you're fine paying a broken down player $16 million, then so be it. He's been a great player for us, but unless he takes a dramatic paycut, I'd cut ties.

What have we won with Demarcus Ware? I'm ready to get rid of all of these high priced Veterans that had their opportunity for at least seven years now. Its time to get younger and start looking towards the future. Demarcus Ware is not leading this team to a SuperBowl at this point in his career and at the price he's due to make for the next three years.

What have we won with Tony Romo? Would you say that we should also cut Tony?

the numbers from 2 years ago arent that bad either. 11.5 with 5 forced fumbles is impressive. Is it worth 12 million bucks? No.
I think its far more likely he will make a bounce back than have another poor season. Pay cut or not I think Ware will stay here and Im fine with that. Just draft the best DL prospect on the board and watch Ware play better. I dont think its far fetched really.

what have won with everyone on the team?
Who cares what youre ready for? Thankfully, Ware will be here next year. The chances of winning a superbowl damn sure dont improve by cutting a player like Demarcus Ware.

Your posts are so fun. I wonder what u would be spewing If it was your money?

Yep! I'm ready to move on from Parcells guys. I'll even trade Witten if I can get a 2nd or 3rd rd pick for him.

Thank you. That's how you run a football organization. A sound GM does those things.

Coaches would prefer vets or 8-8 so they have "something" to build from. He is a vastly over paid aging player. MOVE ON already. No coach wants to go into rebuilding mode because they are thinking only of their respective jobs/position. The GM should understand that the coach would want aging over paid chance of talent compared to an unknown rook because he has an average "base" to cover their hides; he's not considering the logic that a GM would use to strip over paid diminishing talent for youth or unknowns. Not saying Rod is lazy; he's covering himself.

I totally agree, the Texans ran into this conundrum this year when Kubiak was trying to save his job (by playing Schaub) and the GM and owner were looking to the future (Kennum) to see if the had a starting qb on the team already.

I hear what you're saying, but it doesn't matter who's around Ware on the DL if he can't stay on the field himself. They were plenty of times when teams would single-block Ware, double Hatcher, and Selvie would essentially be the only guy making an occasional play. I think it's more than injuries and age with Ware. Something hasn't been right for a while now and I just think he's in decline mode. It happens to most if not all NFL players.
