Female WestJet pilot posts passenger's sexist note on Facebook

The female pilot of a WestJet flight from Calgary to Victoria is venting steam on Facebook over a sexist note one of her male passengers left her on an airline napkin.

The note left for Capt. Carey Smith Steacy of Surrey, B.C. on Sunday says, "The cockpit of an airline is no place for a woman. A woman being a mother is the most honor, not as 'captain.' Proverbs 31. Sorry not PC."

It goes on to say, "I wish WestJet could tell me a fair lady is at the helm so I can book another flight!"

The passenger, according to Smith, also asked flight attendants whether she had enough hours to be the captain as safety was important to him

Don't people usually get fired for posting those kind of things like that on the internet? She should have kicked him off the plan-assuming she got the not before takeoff.

Fired? He's entitled to his opinion.

Im all for women in the workplace taking any job they are qualified for and getting equal pay, just so long as they dont forget after work they are still responsible to cook and clean and do all that women's work type of stuff in the house too. :D

run and hide before WG kicks you in the ding ding.

I didn't see in the article where she has children. If she does not have children, I say, .. "you go girl!"

She is probably better than some of the men pilots.

But it would be hard to be a pilot and a Mom, .. in my humble opinion.
And being a Mom is waaay more important job than being a pilot.
It is also a much more difficult and demanding task.

Mom's are awesome.

Im just kidding with that coment.

I used to tease my daughter about stuff like that. Now she is totally resistant to getting me anything from the kitchen :(

Heard on the radio she's a mother and she finds that job to be her most important, as well.

*raises fist* in pseudo anger..

I only consider that women's work, because I'm the only adult in the house. But best believe, when I finally get a husband of some kind, he'll be taking over some of that "women's work type of stuff"

And kudos to your daughter. It's about the principality of these things. lol

In all seriousness, im glad my girlfriend likes to cook because i dont enjoy cooking at all, im not so great at it either... but she is a great cook and makes awesome desserts.

I dont mind doing dishes or laundry - im used to taking care of that stuff on my own and im particular about how my clothing is washed and folded and where it is placed - I have a system about where different items go, what can go in the closet, on the shelf or in a drawer so its best for me to do that myself.

I dont mind keeping things organized and put away either, but household cleaning is something that i would prefer not to do and would rather hire someone to take care of that.

I would agree that its best to share the work that goes into maintaing the home in some type of way.

what year or should I say century are some people living in?

typical of people of this guys ilk to be Forward, judgemental and obnoxious.

its what they have been taught/trained to be.
