Is anyone else on here going? A buddy and I are gonna head up there with a bunch of Lobo fans on a bus.

love going to vegas for events.
very cool place to host these things.

Great game in the Finals. Can't really believe that SDSt. got a 4 Seed and the West (probably the easiest bracket) and UNM got a 7 and the South (probably the toughest) when UNM beat them 2 out of 3 and really lost a close one in San Diego. It is what it is but that seems like a really big difference in seeding between the two.

I think UNM is paying for being bounced early by Harvard last year. Also, if the Lobos would have beat SDSU in the regular season finale the seeding would be much different.

That don't really stand up to the eye test thou Otero. If this were true, then why does San Diego State get a number 4 seed?

In 2012, SDSt. lost to North Carolina State in the 1st round.
In 2013, SDSt. lost to Florida Golf Coast in the 2nd round.

San Diego State lost to us twice this season and came very close to losing to us three times. UNM suffered two major losses to UMass and Kansas by 16 and 17 early but that was when they were hurt and had some key guys missing time. Since then, UNM has lost a total of 4 games by a \combined 13 points. San Diego State's RPI is 17th in the country. UNM's is 15th. San Diegor State, beat UNM at their place 51-48 in the season final to win the MWC Regular Season title. We beat them 64-58 at a neutral site, to win the MWC Tournament.

I mean, if it's because of the reasons you state above, which would be understandable, then why would the selection committee reward San Diego State with a higher seed when they are pretty much in the same boat as UNM? I don't get that.
