Will Linehan go more no huddle?

Anyone think we'll see the no huddle that was there the 1st 2 weeks of season before it was scrapped due to trying to protect the defense?

Our average TOP was 29:02 last season, leaving opponents with the ball 31:58 a game. Unless our defense improves - or the offense, for that matter - any time we lose on no-huddle drives on which we don't score would increase the imbalance and might contribute to our defense getting fatigued with the extra time on the field.

Our D did seem to be more durable last year, so maybe we can get away with it. I would like to try no-huddle at least once a game because Tony is good at it.

The whole point of no huddle is that it is a more aggressive style of offense, it doesn't necessarily suggest that we're going to lose significant time of possession.

Correct, it's more about execution. You can run effectively out of the no huddle and pass effectively out of the no huddle. Move the chains and it will protect the defense. Score points and it will help the defense.

I think we are gonna see more Murray in a passing game and attacking the middle of the field more. Hopefully, at least...

You don't necessarily have to run a quicker tempo. You just get to the line quicker and make the defense more reluctant to substitute. They could still use much of the playclock if they wanted to.

No huddle doesn't make for a better offense. It could actually make you worse if you don't convert. And if you think your defense is going to be about the same as last year, the last thing you need is to give the opponent's offense more series against this defense. Forget the no huddle, just be more efficient on offense.

I would think we would see less no huddle to protect the defense. We know the weak point of our team is defense so wouldn't you want to do everything possible to keep them off the field whenever possible?

Only Linehan knows for sure exactly what his intentions are regarding a possible no-huddle in 2014. Anything here would be pure speculation and nothing more. I will say that the no huddle was significantly more successful in 2013 than anything else we used, so if Linehan decides to go with what garnered the most successful results back then, he might be inclined to use it this year. Of course, that's merely speculation on my part and nothing more, as I suggested earlier.

I hope so. Offense looked like a well oiled machine when they went no huddle.

Will Tony? It doesn't work if he takes 30 seconds to get the play off.

No huddle or not they have to create rhythm and TEMPO

Exactly. We need a bit of deception as well.

Im sick and tired of defenses knowing that when you play Dallas you don't have to worry much about misdirection or playaction or anything that is remotely deceptive.

Our offense needs to start dictating games instead of always taking what the defense gives.

As long as our points per offensive series remain so high relative to other teams', I'm not too worried about it. I love the no huddle for us, though if the defense can handle it.

This is false. No huddle has very little to do with the amount of time it takes to snap the ball. It's about exploiting match ups. The whole point of the no huddle is to prevent the defense from making substitutions. The no huddle CAN be fast paced and it often is but it's not a prerequisite to running it. Chip Kelly runs a very fast paced offense that doesn't necessarily use a no huddle. His offense actually huddles quite a bit. They just get back to the line and snap the ball very quickly. The point of his philosophy is to quickly wear a defense down. The no huddle can be used to that end also but, again, it's more about getting a defense "stuck" in a defensive personnel package that is favorable to the offense.

I would do whatever puts least amount of stress on Romo back because Dallas absolutely needs him to be playing for atleast next two years.
