IRVING, Texas – By this point in the draft cycle, you’ve likely heard of most of the guys on my big board. At the same time, you’re bound to notice some big names missing from the list – there’s no Teddy Bridgewater or Kelvin Benjamin to be found here.

After plenty of hours studying the tape, this is simply my 50 best targets in the draft – from obvious stars to some lesser-known surprises. This should give some idea of what to expect in the first two rounds of the draft, and who the Cowboys may have a chance of taking.

1Jadeveon ClowneySouth Carolina DEExplosive, disruptive player off the edge
2Greg RobinsonAuburn OTPowerful athlete, gets movement right away
3Sammy WatkinsClemson WRLarry Fitzgerald with speed.
4Mike EvansTexas A&M WRWill give corners problems with his reach
5Jake MatthewsTexas A&M OTSmooth in the way he moves. Rarely off balance
6Anthony BarrUCLA LBPerfect 3-4 OLB but could be an End, Jason Taylor?
7Khalil MackBuffalo LBHe or Barr, have feeling that both will make impact
8Eric EbronNorth Carolina TEMismatch nightmare for defenses to have to cover.
9Aaron DonaldPittsburgh DTSuper productive, disruptive when on the move.
10Taylor LewanMichigan OTTough, closed gap on other Tackles in workouts.

some of his rankings appear to coincide with players the Cowboys have expressed interest in. example: I don't think I've seen anything that has Will Clarke from WVA as a top 50 player.

we're sittin in an awkward position by this board.
Jernigann or trade and I think trade. the question is which way

He likes Barr a bit more than I do. Better than Mack?

Beckham is good. But is it me, or does Broaddus always rank LSU players a bit higher than others?

He ranks Manziel about the same place most (but not all) rankings have him.

I see he's not a fan of Clinton-Dix

Some interesting names and ranking on that list. Yeah, he doesn't appear to be a fan of Dix. Barr over Mack? No Tuitt anywhere? No Benjamin (although it appears he's really slipping in some mocks).

The things the jump out at me most are:

1) Where's Morgan Moses? Has to be an oversight. I've even heard him talk positively about Moses numerous times.
2) Ebron over Donald? He can't possibly suggest that he would take him over Donald for this team. Every time I rank prospects it's Cowboys-centric... it's based on our roster, schemes, etc. Wonder if his isn't that way.
3) I simply can't see how Pryor is ranked so much higher than Clinton-Dix. I honestly think he's got the two guys completely opposite in his evaluation. He thinks Pryor is the better true FS prospect, and I just flat out disagree, as I think HHCD has the better route-recognition and instincts as a single high FS.

He thinks highly of Ebron as do I. One of the consequences of the head scratching Escobar pick is that should he fall we would be in a legit position to draft Witten's heir apparent long term and give the offense a legit match up problem short term should he fall. Going a different direction with that pick would have opened us even more to take the bpa available without having a second round pick that may or may not be the answer prohibiting us from going in that direction.

From his wording it seems these are the 50 best in his mind and not necessarily Cowboy centric. If that is the case, a lot of our mocks have been blown up.

He has Crichton 26, most of us were hoping he would be there at 47.
Ward and Lawrence are two others that many have had in second round mocks.
Have seen Latimer in 3rd and 4th round mocks

And honestly, how can you list Brandon Thomas in your top 50 when he is likely to be a third day pick due to his injury?

Latimer's stock is soaring he's gonna go in the 1st

Broaddus is a LSU guy, all the way. He's completely biased towards LSU. lol

You're putting much too much stock into the opinion of probably the least informed draft ranking you'll ever come across in the media.

Wasn't getting too excited over it to be honest....just pointing out that if we are going by his rankings...there might be some unhappy faces next week

How does Broddus know what the Cowboys draft board looks like?

Keep an open mind when it comes to the draft. Don't get hung up on a few personal favorite players or you're setting yourself up for a letdown.

In the 2nd paragraph he says that it's from a Cowboys point of view, getting fans ready for what to expect in terms of Cowboy targets. What scares me is that Ebron is still Top 10.

Frankly he should know better than anyone from the outside of the organization. He's worked for them, knows what types of players they like, and is buddies with all the Cowboys scouts.

If you look at the past leaked boards and understand that the Cowboys take off players that don't fit their scheme. A lot of those guys in the 20s aren't drafted until the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Again, not an issue. I enjoy watching the draft...but it isn't that big a deal.

It gets frustrating when you see a guy who is a perfect fit not get drafted, especially talking first rounders. Randy Moss was one. Steven Jackson was another....and then to be validated by the way the guy performs for someone else. Makes you shake your head.

I do have guys I prefer, but that's not a biggie either. I am just curious in whether this is Broaddus' actual take on the best 50 players out there, or if it is the best 50 players he thinks will be on Dallas board. That's my only point.
