You don't have to convince me JT. I don't like Ebron nearly as much as a lot of people do.

Acc plays some really weak schedules for being a big conference. Kinda why i question Donald. He had a ok game vs Florida State, and was stonewalled vs Notre Dame. At the SR bowl the south washed him alot. He had a couple decent plays but nothing eye opening. He got showed up by Caraun Reid. But people loved what he did in shorts or them one on one drills that coaches basically walked players through.

Chris Watt really took it Donald in both games.

On Ebron, the guy has some serious talent but he doesnt always play like it. Just something about him scream under achiever.

ACC does have an issue in that no one but FSU was really very good. Lots of bad teams weigh down schedules so if you don't have other BCS opponents it can be a pretty miserable sched.

Not sure I can agree on Donald. He was dominant all week in Mobile IN PADS.
Then again flashed huge penetration in game.
He was blocked well on occasion but the South keyed him all game which is why Reid was so good.
Donald has looked goo dine very football game I have seen him in.
He is a seriously good 3T prospect and easily the best in this class.

I think I agree. I think he's a scheme fit guy and in the right scheme, he's a really good player. The best scheme for him is what we run.

I think he can be utilized as a pass rusher anywhere in any scheme between the tackles.
Run stop wise he is going to have to Jay Ratliff or Geno Atkins you... i.e. beat you with speed to make tackles.
He's not a gap clogger.

I like to see prospects that excelled on the field then back that up with measurables that explain why they dominated. --like JJ Watt.
It's pretty easy to see why Donald excelled.

4.68 40 at 285 pounds.... wow.
35 reps of 225.... sheesh.

He's got elite explosion and upper body strength. Fairly safe bet he can beat OL.

I do think he is a prototype 3T.
The 10 pounds he'll add as he ages into the NFL is about perfect.
When he loses some explosion he will have perfected his techniques.

I think this guy is a future All Pro.

i posted some videos from the game, and you can see them washing him past the play ran aot of the time. He did have some good plays. But against better talent the production wasnt there he had against weaker opponents is what im saying. And is only going to go down IMO in the NFL. I dont see him as a 3 down guy in the NFL. His length is going to be a problem against big bodies inside. His frame is pretty much maxed out. i can see him a 4-6 sack guy limited reps guy.

That critique basically describes every 3T ever.
That is what the position does, get up field. It is other ugys job to hold the edge or play the two gaps inside.
The 3T is a penetrator that gets up field.

Here is Broaddus film breakdown where he talks about 3T and his responsibility.

Donald is NOT all that great; he is the over rated player in this draft so far

as i said above....

Vs FSU

This is a video of a player who is playing against better talent than normal and is probably above average. He has a few plays that are good but nothing that stands out. You see Donald abusing inferior lower collegiate teams and you think this guy is a beast. And thats basically 90% of his tape because ACC plays some soft schedules. This FSU game and Notre Dame game and even the Miami game get overshadowed because theres all this other footage of him abusing inferior players of lower level teams.

He is not John Randle or Leroi Glover. Donald tries to beat you off the snap. If he doesnt you won that battle. Randle and Glover could beat you with speed and technique. Im not saying he cant develop that at some point but right now he doesnt have it.

no offense dude but you really are watching some sport other than football....

FSU dominated Pitt --and everyone they played til the NCG.
But Donald was the one guy consistently getting in the back field.
He didn't single-handledly destroy FSU but he was far better in this game than Clowney was in ANY game ALL YEAR.
He got penetration virtually every snap.
He had the sole bright spot of the Pitt day in sacking Winston.
This game is one of the main reasons he is rising.

various comments from another who watched that game:
http://seahawksdraftblog.com/aaron-donald-is-much-better-than-i-thought

have zero idea where you are going with john randle and laroi glover comparisons.
both were smaller school guys and glover only had a tiny bit of success at SDSU.
never had collegiate resumes or draft interest like Donald. one was a 5th rounder and the other was undrafted altogether.

..maybe where your going is this scouting assessment:
http://thevikingage.com/2014/04/25/vikings-draft-aaron-donald-compared-john-randle/

again if you don't think donald is a top 10 prospect in this draft you should re-evaluate how to grade players.
this is a basic IQ check.
not as bad as andrew luck but bordering on it.

this is the prototype 3T.

No offense taken.

But i guess you dont understand what a wash is

Look at play #2. Thats a wash, they flush him up the field in the opposite direction that the plays going. That happened all day at the Sr bowl game.

And im sure you didnt watch this video, because other then 4 or 5 plays, donald was a non factor. And FSU doesnt really have a bigtime OL. But its better then what he faced most of the yr. SEC talent.

Clowney
Manziel
Robinson
Watkins
Mack
Lewan
Evans
Mathews
Evans
Barr
Bortles
Donald

Thats how i would grade this draft. And its hard not to grade Gilbert and Dennard over him.

Like i said he had a few good plays. He's a first round guy. But his production is bloated because of the bad teams he's played against.

You act like im saying he's a bum. I didnt know my IQ is being questioned because i see bloated stats against bad teams.
