Absolutely amazing! Was that one of those friggen nut job Pit bulls!

I love dogs...but I despise Pit Bulls because they are so unpredictable...of course that is the owners fault also.

But, that cat was not taking in **** off that dog!

Awesome.

Btw, if that's my kid, that dog is dead later on that day.
Period

Owners might get a tail kicking too.

Love dogs, but the owners are fully responsible unless the dog is being tormented

I had a cat chase off a German Shepherd for me. I was working in the yard with my headphones on. A dog had walked into the yard and was approaching me, but I was unaware it was happening. I saw my cat dart off the porch in the corner of my eye and as I turned to see where she was going in a rush I saw her jump at the dog and then he high tailed it out of there. I had to chase her down the street as she was pursuing him a whole block. He never came back.

Cat saves boy from dog attack in Southwest Bakersfield
Dog will be euthanized, police said

BAKERSFIELD - A cat came to her best friend's rescue Tuesday when a young boy was attacked by a dog in his driveway in Southwest Bakersfield and it was all caught on video.

The surveillance video shows the boy, 4-year-old Jeremy, playing on his bicycle. He was coming home from school when he wanted to fly a kite. Jeremy has mild autism.

The neighbor's dog, an 8-month-old labrador/chow mix, sneaks up behind him and bites his leg.

The family's cat, named Tara, rushed the attacking dog and chased it away.

"Tara is my hero," Jeremy said.

I'm really not sure if pit bulls are naturally more aggressive than all other breeds; I've met some very loving ones. The danger is that when they flip, they can cause a ton of damage because of their bite strength.

Super Cat!

But yes, the dog has to go. If it had been the throat, then that outcome is,well...you get the picture.

For those say pit bull ...that was not a pit.

not a pit bull.

Never, ever get a pit bull! As my mom warned us pit bulls are really dangerous. And really can chew your hand off. But really what a tough cat there. To save that boy! Boy would had been a goner if the dog kept at it.

Again, that was not a Pit. I do agree that this dog needed to be put down though.

Hah that was definitely not a Pit. My Pit would of torn that Cat to pieces. But my Pit also would never attack anyone, especially a child.

I've always believed that it is the owner who causes any breed to be vicious and never really considered it's reputation as a reason not to get a pit bull. I probably wouldn't get one just because I prefer other breeds, but the reputation of the dog has never given me concern. I've encountered plenty of sweet pit bulls and I've never encountered a mean one. I often wonder if the fact that people are uneasy around them adds a little gasoline to the fire and prompts them to be on edge themselves.

That said, about 3-4 months ago I saw a little boy who was mauled by a pit bull and the dog focused on his face. I saw them bring him into the hospital and got a really good look at the damage. His cheek was torn open in such a way that I was almost positive he would have a scar like Heath Ledger on the one side of his face. It was sort of lifted up a bit and the term I heard used was "degloved". A portion of his upper lip was entirely gone, from the center of his upper lip spanning about 2cm to the side. Basically a 1cm X 2cm piece of lip just not there. They brought this part of his lip in after picking it up off the ground but apparently it was too damaged to be reattached. He had smaller cuts above and below his eyes and he's probably fortunate that he didn't lose one.

I still believe that it's more so the owner than anything that drives pit attacks, but what if you just happen to get a bad egg? Could happen with any breed I suppose but I think the potential for damage with pits far exceeds the potential in other breeds. I'm about as certain as I can be that I would never have a pit that would attack someone as a result of my ownership, but I just cannot imagine how horrible I would feel if I just got a bad egg from the bunch and the dog really went after someone the way this pit did to this little boy.

So I'm guessing a family member is filming that, and at no point stops and goes to help the kid. Otay. Forget the kid, this needs to be up on Youtube!
