I just added Ben Gardner to my favorite 7 round and UDFA defensive players after watching his highlight for the draft. First I will tell you my others favorite players; Ken Bishop, Adman Dixon, Davon Coleman and now I'm ]adding Ben Gardner. Ben Gardner didn't have a fast 40, but he don't need to run 40 yards to tackle a QB or RB, just 10 yards or less. He is right when he said that he will bring a physical presence to the DLine. When he hit QB's they know they've been hit. Search his name for videos and look for his video listed as "2014 DRAFT PROSPECT-BEN GARDNER and you will see a lot of hard hits, especially at the 1:30 and the 3:32 mark. The one thing I didn't like about D. Lawrence highlights, he didn't get many hard or bone crushing hits like Ben Gardner. D. Lawrence tackle form was a throw down form, don't know if that's a form, but I saw too many tackles of this nature. I would like to have seen more head popping back hits from D. Lawrence. Now, back to Ben Gardner. He will be a beast and other teams OLine will hate to face him, because he will keep coming non stop. I have nickname him, "THE GARDNER" because he likes to plant QB's. Tell me your nicknames for Ben Gardner?

That actually is a rather clever nickname and description, but let's wait until we see him actually plant a few QBs before we name him.

Ben "The Gardner" Gardner.

Little bit of a weird ring to it but planting QBs is clever.

Jaws.

Well. Maybe that's not a good one, if you remember the "head" scene from the movie.

I'm guessing the veteran players might just call him "hey, rook . . ."

The Tiller - I could see a horror movie with that title

I hope your right about him but I have my concerns he will be able to play well at the NFL level--especially at end where most tackles have 4-5 inches of arm length on him. It will be a challenge for a meh athlete with tiny arms to succeed but I'm rooting for guy because I like how he plays.

That's why he'll be playing DT.
