Wouldn't mosquitoes be a major issue during the zombie apocalypse?

They bite a walker than a non-walker and wouldn't it infect the person?

Remember people die from teh bites and scratches more from the infection that follows. I guess if you are allergic to mosquito bites you are screwed.

The infection doesn't carry through animals/insects.

Well it doesn't in the comics anyways.

You would think right but actually no. Once a mosquito bites a zombie, they also become zombified and immediately start trying to eat other mosquitoes.

Who knew?

I think mosquitos are attracted to carbon dioxide, aren't they?
Though, they would bite the infected and spread it that way.

Yes, good thought. Carbon Dioxide and warmth, both lacking in Zombies.

Actually in the second stage of decomp carbine dioxide is released from the body during bloat.

I think about things like, wouldn't they eventually run out of zombies? In the initial outbreak there were zombies everywhere from all the regular people, but if we assume they decay wouldn't those eventually get to a point of non-function? By S4 the survivors wouldn't run into zombies caught doing everyday things anymore like they did in S1. Wouldn't it get to be where the only zombies around are from the few survivors, when they eventually die? No more giant herds of zombies, just zombie Herschells and T-Dogs etc.

But then I decide it's a show about zombies and it's better not to look too deep into the logistics of the whole thing, haha.

I always thought that mosquitos would be terrifying in a situation like that.

Quite frankly if I ever did a zombie movie or series, I would definitely include infected animals.

Imagine an encounter with a zombified buffalo or bull in the plains.

Or zombified birds on a ship.

Just saying, terrifying. lol

Interesting topic BZ!

Mosquitos aren't just attracted to creatures giving off carbon dioxide, but they also use body temp as a criteria for determining if something would make for a good meal or not.

In general mosquitos aren't attracted to dead people/critters.
