Ran into someone that was on the team last year. Started a conversation. Said he had played for several teams. I wont mention who he is with right now. Told me the reason the cowboys have all these injuries....was due to over training. Said he never played for a team that takes strength and conditioning this serious. He mentioned miles in particular as someone that over trains. Just relaying what he said. Have at it.

And imagine that Belicheat said all these injuries are from not enough team activities and training because of the CBA restrictions. Stupid coach.

The player can remain anonymous, but did he sustain any injuries which he attributed to overtraining?

I don't really understand why you're keeping this said player anonymous, but it makes your story even fishier. I mean it's not like the player said some earth shattering words here regarding the Cowboys, or even bad mouthed anyone. Just seems odd is all, and it makes me very doubtful that this ever happened.

Used to say forged by fire, put it to the grind stone and work.....but there are smarter ways to get the peak performance out of football players, Dallas seems too lax rather under worked because other teams in general seem to have their football team in better physical shape.

In the end you have to embrace the one constant in the game which we all know is change...be prepared for change always especially trying to win NFL football.

When Hatcher decided on a personall commitment to Football he became a Pro Bowl Player, what held him back for 4 years prior?

Is the same lazy mentality or lack of leadership holding other Dallas players unaccountable as well?

I convinced the reason is the lax attitude about stretching, it's reaching epic proportions. My son's HS soccer team arrived for a play-off game after a 1.5 hour bus ride, they kicked the ball around for about 15 minutes and a player asked the coach if it was time to stretch, the coach replied "we don't have time now". Three players cramped up and one sprained a ACL all in the first half. Back to basics, at all levels.

I cannot believe I am responding to this. But, I have been a fan my whole life. Been a part of this forum for many years. I am a grown man. Fabricating a conversation like this is something a kid would do.

Having the ability to receive intel like this is not anything I take lightly. With all the money the NFL generates off of fans.....it's kind of nice for fans to feel like they are actually "getting some real info" as opposed to what you get from a Jason Garrett press conference. I am not suggesting I would relay any and everything I heard...but I felt this was an innocent enough topic that has left many fans scratching their heads.

Knowing your posting history, I would think you could make up a much better story . I have no doubt that you are telling the truth.

I can readily accept what the OP is contending here. If a team has a policy of training as intensively as the Cowboys do, it would seem likely they would be required to match it with an extra dose of stretching to balance their flexibility with the tightness that becomes inherent in those who train the hardest. That would very well seem exactly the reason why that the Cowboy have initiated a more modernistic exercise regimen and have also installed the ballet bars recently. Flexibility is a must for athletes, especially for those with a highly developed musculature.

If you don't believe the OP then why not merely walk away from the thread? I see no reason to question the OP's veracity at all. It's merely echoing one player's opinion as to why we had so many injuries.

As I've said before there are certain mechanics involved in a mechanism of injury. You can read the injury and often glean the mechanism or one of a couple or few mechanisms.

Tearing the belly of a muscle has its own mechanics whether it be Grade I or IV.

The players need to stay stretched and even then muscle pulls still happen.

I looked at last years rosters, players that had been with several teams previously (and have signed somewhere else this offseason or before). My guess it's either Ernie Sims or Will Allen. Or another I might have missed (which is prob true). Anyways, there isn't a long list of players that fit that criteria.
