RIP Casey Kasem 1932-2014!

Yep. I read a few stories & felt very sorry for him because he was gravely ill & you think to yourself that poor man.

Yea they were dragging poor Casey through the ringer he should died with some peace. Dragging him across country and everyone is fighting over him just sad the way the man died.

I agree. Family feuding is ugly.

Casey's high point was the 70's.

By the time the 80's came about music really started to fragment with the advent of MTV and listening habits started changing greatly.

But boy during the 70's, "America's Top 40" was it. This was before stores and such piped in their own music, so quite often what was playing on the radio was playing everywhere. The weekly "Top 40" list was much more important and impactful in our lives than it is today (by far). I remember many times friends talking about who was going to be the "#1" that week.

The music landscape was so much different then.

Casey Kasem had one of the most distinctive voices of the 20th century. He will not be soon forgotten by those of us who heard him on radio or television. Rest in peace Mr. Kasem.
