Wow, I don't normally look at trailers but I don't expect much from this movie.

There is literally nothing to this movie.

It's amazing how the original movies (a lot of different tones) can capture the Essenes, the charisma due in part, better ideas and less tech forcing them to use a simple visual or story telling. Now with tech that art is gone.

Probably will check it out but the story is very predictable.

How can anybody think of the apes when the new transformers movie is about to come out lol.

I think its going to be a bad movie. The first one was boring for 90% ofthe movie. almost turned it off about 4 times

The new one reminds me too much of the 4th and 5th movies of the original series of movies.

Still may go an see it.

Both times I saw the trailer for this film in the theater recently I was not very impressed. I doubt I will see this on the big screen, anyway

It's hilarious that a bunch of apes with guns can take over a city or cities. lol. So all the technology at use, no one can overtake apes with guns! Oh no!

I think the premise is that the majority of humans have been wiped out by some kind of virus and the apes are taking over those that remain. I got the impression that modern technology was relatively non existent at that point, at least that was how it seemed from the preview I saw.

Why????
If this flic reminds you of a terrible 40 year old sequel, why would you make a conscious decision to reward the film makers for knowingly producing dreck?

To my mind, it would be akin to paying $10 to put my finger in an electrical outlet.

I actually liked the Whalberg remake with Tim Burton but admittedly never saw the Bronson original for comparison. Cool premise with plenty of plot holes but found the idea cool. Then again, I enjoyed "The Island of Dr. Moreau" (1996) that was universally panned as well. To each their own.

I always thought Michael Jackson looked strikingly like the female lead in 2001 version:

Thought the first one was very good. Much better than I thought it would be. I think this one looks better. I'm not sure how you can say it has no story without seeing it.

I liked the first 2011 one, too. Probably more than most people. But I am extremely underwhelmed by this upcoming one.

A virus. More funny.

But one of the aspects of most post apocalyptic scenarios (movies/books/etc.) involving the human race usually strip them of the common devices previously used to fight disease, or physical aggression as a result of a lack of remaining "functioning" technology/medical supplies, etc. I hear your point though in that you have to somewhat "overlook" these types of inconsistencies to enjoy to film/genre and @ times it can be just too much. Horror movies are the most notorious genre when I think of this aspect.

Loaded Weapon spoof on some of these aspects:

*SPOILER ALERT*

The 1968 Charlton Heston version put the blame for the demise of humanity on a nuclear holocaust. The movie franchise reboot puts the blame on a mutated virus. It changed from an experimental vaccine being tested on apes to help cure Alzheimer's Disease. The vaccine was promising in the beginning, with James Franco illegally testing it on his father's dementia (his father was played by John Litigow (sp?)). The cure hit a dead end, though.

The vaccine artificially increased the apes' intelligence. That, in itself, would not give the apes the edge going into the upcoming sequel. Franco's assistant inhaled the gaseous form of the vaccine during a lab accident. He was Patient Zero. Before he died, he inflected Franco's neighbor, who was an airline pilot. The mutated virus is an airborne contagion. When the pilot flew to London (I think), he infected airport and jet passengers and the worldwide pandemic was underway.

It's a solid premise. Viruses have killed untold millions, sometimes in short order, through millennia. Nature has always had a way of keeping humanity in check. Our intelligence has been the main thing keeping us from going extinct.

I enjoyed the first reboot. Hope the sequel can do as well or better.

That's like saying the plot of Transformers is dumb b/c "its hilarious that robots from another planet would come here and fight each other." Of course its ridiculous.

Well there aren't much in the way of new ideas out there when it comes to movies. It's just the way things are.

And if you want to go to the movies you're probably going to see something with a plot you've seen at least once before.

"GOOOOOO!!"

I thought that part was awesome.

and I am looking forward to this. The last one was better than the original sequels I thought. Can't touch the original though.
